Be prepared! ⛈️☔️
Dear Citizens of Tyler County,
As the Tyler County Emergency Management Team, our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our community. With hurricane season starting (June 1st - November 30th), we want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of being prepared.
We encourage all residents to take proactive steps to ensure their safety and the safety of their loved ones. To do this, we recommend creating a disaster preparedness checklist that includes essential supplies such as: food and water (non-perishable and sufficient for at least 3 - 5 days), flashlights, batteries, chargers, first aid kit, medications, medical equipment, important documents, (insurance policies and identifications), cash and credit cards, battery powered radio, personal hygiene items, multipurpose tool or knife, sanitation and hygiene supplies,
In addition to having the necessary supplies, it's crucial to have a plan in place. This includes knowing your evacuation route. Have a communication plan with your family.
If you or your family are in need of assistance or have questions about hurricane preparedness, please don't hesitate to contact our office. We are here to provide resources to support you.
