In Honor of Nurses Week🩺
Sometimes I sit back and reflect on the girl who first started in healthcare as a CNA while still in high school… working 4–10 shifts after school while also navigating life as a teen mom & living on my own.
18 years later, I still carry that same grit with me every single day.
I became a LPN in 2008 and spent the first 8 years of my nursing career in a busy family and obstetric clinic, caring for generations of families and building relationships that still mean so much to me today. In 2015, I went back for my RN and later stepped into the ER — where I learned resilience, confidence, and how to stay calm in chaos.
Then in 2018, I found aesthetics and took a leap of faith with nothing but a vision and a whole lot of hard work. I started in one small room inside a critical access hospital in a town of 1,200 people. No investors. No established patient base. Just grit, sacrifice, and belief in what I was building.
In 2021, I knew if I truly wanted to become great at this craft, I needed to learn from the best and inject five days a week. So I joined one of Oklahoma City’s top med spas (Radiance) and drove 157 miles one way every week for the opportunity to grow. Those long drives, long days, and constant repetition helped shape me into the injector I am today. So thankful for the opportunity it gave me. I invested in education, experience, and growth long before I ever saw the reward from it. I did it all while balancing my family, my children & life outside of work.
Fast forward to renovating the historic Katy Railroad Station in Woodward while finishing NP school… and watching it become BeautyRx Oklahoma — Northwest Oklahoma’s first full service med spa that currently serves patients from 4 states. To all my patients, I appreciate you!
These photos are more than a reflection on nursing.
It’s a reflection of growth, sacrifice, faith, motherhood, long nights, risks, resilience, and becoming the woman I once hoped I could be. 🤍
To all the Nurses & providers who have helped shaped me into the Nurse I am today. THANK YOU ❤️
