Jackie Estelle Roberson

Jackie Estelle Roberson, born Jackie Estelle McNeely, age 82, of Bruceville Tx, passed away on April 9, 2026.

Jackie was born on August 3, 1943, in McGregor, where she was raised and later met the love of her life, Kenneth Roberson. As the story goes, Kenneth was sitting with his father at Jackie’s mother’s business when he first saw her and declared, “I am going to marry that girl.” True to his word, the two were married on August 7, 1959, and went on to share 60 wonderful years together.

Together they raised three sons—Randy, Kenny, and Keith—three rambunctious boys who kept life busy and full of energy, especially with their involvement in sports. Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, and Memaw.

Jackie worked for Fab-Knit and later retired from Powers Embroidery, where she was so appreciated that she was invited back to work part-time for several years. She was talented and creative, spending time crafting and painting her own wood carvings. She enjoyed doing puzzles, and going on road trips to casinos. Jackie loved visiting with friends and family—she was incredibly social, never met a stranger, and left a lasting impression wherever she went. She was truly one of a kind: bold, spirited, and a bit of a firecracker when the moment called for it.

Some of the most cherished memories were made during the family’s annual Fourth of July week-long gatherings at the tank on their land—filled with singing, card games, darts, laughter, and stories of the good old days. Jackie was also an avid spoons player and brought joy and energy to every gathering.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Kenneth Roberson, and her oldest son, Randy Roberson. Her sisters Charlene Reeves and MaryAnn Bone and brother Wimpy McNeely.

She is survived by her sons, Kenny Roberson and wife Yvonne, and Keith “Rooster” Roberson and wife Valerie; granddaughters Crystal Roberson and Kayla Roberson; and great-grandsons Ross and Rooney Bell. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

At Jackie’s request, no memorial services will be held. Instead, she asked that everyone celebrate her life in their own way—and, if possible, have a “Cocktail” in her honor.

Jackie will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever celebrated by all who knew and loved her.

Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who cared for and supported her during her final weeks. Your compassion and kindness brought comfort not only to her, but to all of us.

Kenneth Lynn Kimmey

Kenneth Lynn Kimmey, 69, of Whitney, won his battle with cancer on Thursday, April 9th, 2026. Kenneth was born to Tommy and Avanell Kimmey on December 12th, 1956, the first of three boys.

Kenneth lived in Baytown and made his living as a Machinist and Millwright at Mobay/Bayer and Solvay until he was fortunate enough to “retire” at 50 from the daily grind. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, offshore diving, and fishing. He turned that passion into a second career as a Certified Dive Master and Licensed Boat Captain. He packed up and moved to the Florida Keys, where he captained liveaboard boats in the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Wayne Kimmey. He leaves behind his children, Melanie Kimmey (Auld) and Kristopher Kimmey; grandchildren Kenner, Hunter, and Sayler Auld; and brother, Kelley Kimmey. As well as nieces and nephews, and others that loved and cared for him immensely.

At Kenneth’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held, but we invite you to have a glass of wine and celebrate the wonderful life he lived.

Susan Phillips

Susan Phillips, a devoted nurse, caring mother, and cherished friend, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Waco, Texas. Born on May 5, 1944, in Port Arthur, Texas, Susan’s life was marked by her commitment to caring for others and the joy she found in living life to its fullest.

A Celebration of her remarkable life will be held during a visitation and viewing on Friday, April 10th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Grace Gardens.

A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Susan pursued her passion for nursing at Lamar University, where she earned her Registered Nursing Degree. Susan launched her career with dedication and skill at Methodist Hospital in Houston and later at Ben Taub Trauma Hospital in Houston. Her journey culminated at Providence Hospital in Waco, where she served as the Director of Nursing on the third floor. There, she earned an esteemed reputation as a true legend in her field, embodying leadership and compassion until her retirement. Even after stepping back from hospital administration, Susan’s calling to care continued as she became a travel nurse, lending her expertise throughout the nation.

Susan was known for her vibrant and joyful personality. She always had a great time and was a loyal friend to many. Her caring nature extended deeply into her family life, where she was present for her children whenever they needed her. Beyond her medical career and family commitments, Susan had a zest for life that was reflected in her many hobbies and interests. She delighted in cruises, gambling, wine tasting, and traveling the world, embracing each experience with enthusiasm. She was also an avid football fan, proudly cheering on both the Dallas Cowboys and her beloved Kansas City Chiefs—especially enjoying watching Patrick Mahomes in action—bringing the same passion to game days that she brought to every part of her life.

She is deeply mourned by her surviving family members: her daughters, Michelle Peacock and her significant other, Clinton Joiner, and Nicole Lednicky and her husband Clayton. She was also a proud grandmother to Chloe Kuklies, Tyler Maddox, and Carter Maddox, as well as a loving great-grandmother to Cash Branch. Her enduring friendships were exemplified by her lifelong companions, affectionately known as "The Mermaids," who stood beside her through life’s many chapters.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Phillips, and her three brothers, whose memories she held dear throughout her life.

Susan Phillips leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and joy. Her contributions to nursing, the love she shared with her family, and the warmth she brought to her friends will never be forgotten. She will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but for the generosity of spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. Her passing is a profound loss to the communities she served and the family who loved her deeply.
