New Fellowship Spotlight - Cheryl Picard, FACHCA!
Cheryl Picard has been in healthcare since 1987. Starting in Medical Records for a local HMO, moving up to administrative assistant in the therapy department, returning to school to become a PTA and working for 25 years at that level. During that time, she worked for her BA at Providence College and honing her management/leadership skills. Cheryl continued school and received her certificate for Nursing Home Administration from St. Joseph of Maine, landing her first job at the Apple Clipper in Westerly, RI in 2019. During her tenure at the Clipper, Cheryl received the Nursing Home Administrator of the Year with RIHCA, helped to guide the home from a 2-star to a 4-star facility, and received the Bronze Award for the Clipper’s work on weight loss.
Currently, Cheryl is the administrator at The Friendly Home. While there, she finished her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, received her Fellow from ACHCA, and sits as the current President of the RI chapter of ACHCA.
During her free time, Cheryl loves to spend time with family and friends on the water in RI, scrapbooking, reading, singing in St. Rita’s choir, an advocate for cancer research, Disneyworld, travel, and relaxing with her dogs.
