Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Centre

Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Centre Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Centre has been owned and operated by the Pezzelli family since 1975. They are truly wonderful. Why? We're here for you.

Dear Friend,

If you are reading this letter then I know you are in the process of making one of the hardest and most important decisions you will ever face: How to take care of a loved one who can no longer take care of himself. No doubt you are considering options that include home health care, assisted living, short term rehabilitative or long term residential care, or perhaps hospice care. Nur

sing care is about far more than a facility’s bricks and mortar. What counts most is the experience and expertise of the people who work inside. I have been the owner of Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Centre since 1975 and I can tell you that our residents are blessed with a dedicated, motivated, and compassionate staff that is second to none. Our annual surveys consistently rank them among the best in our region. I know from experience because I have turned to them to care for friends and family members alike including my own mother. I would not have entrusted her to anyone else. Unlike many nursing facilities today, ours is not run by some distant, faceless corporation. We are and always have been a family owned and operated business with deep roots in our state and local communities. We try harder because our livelihoods depend on serving the needs of our residents. When problems arise, residents and their families can always find an open door and an attentive ear to listen to their concerns. Whatever option of care you are looking at, I invite you to call our admissions department to schedule a guided tour of our facility. When you do, I know you will end up choosing Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Centre. Because when it comes to a loved one’s care, experience counts the most. Warmest regards,

Norma M. Pezzelli
Owner/President

The banner is up! Although our Anniversary Celebration isn't until September, we wanted to commemorate our true birthday! We officially opened our doors 50 years ago in July 1975! This is a significant milestone not just for our family, but for all who helped make WHRC what it is today!

Scenes from last week's Family Picnic! Thank you so much to Paradise B-B-Q and Catering and SoCo Vedge for our meals and especially to Wojcik's Farm for hosting us! Special thanks to photographer George Corrigan for braving the elements as well! Even through some spots of rain everyone had a good time! We can’t wait to return in the fall for hayrides, apple picking, and the corn maze!

As we celebrate National Nursing Home Week we are taking time to recognize and salute the individual departments, the teams within the team, that work hand in hand for the benefit of our residents. Some of the departments, like our Nursing department, are comprised of many dozens of staff members. Some, like our Social Service and Scheduling departments, have just one individual. All departments, however, share one thing in common: Large or small, every department is absolutely essential to the proper functioning of our daily operations. Each department is like a spoke in a wheel with our residents at the hub. Every spoke must do its part; if one breaks the whole wheel will wobble and collapse!

So here’s to the great wheel we have here at WHRC and the many great spokes that keep it spinning smoothly!

Friday - Nursing, Rehabilitation, Transportation and Medical Records

The core of compassionate care, restorative progress, reliable mobility, and precise data management defines our Nursing, Rehabilitation, Transportation, and Medical Records teams. Delivering expert clinical attention, guiding residents toward their highest potential, ensuring safe and timely travel, and maintaining comprehensive resident histories are their unwavering commitments. They cultivate a nurturing environment for healing, enhance resident independence and quality of life, provide a vital link to appointments and outings, and safeguard the accuracy of critical health information.

Like everything we do at WHRC, it takes teamwork and dedication, so let’s give a big thank you today to everyone in our Nursing, Rehabilitation, Transportation, and Medical Records departments!
