Connecting thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
These are all connected. Using the cognitive triangle can help you understand how you respond to activating events:
Example:
Activating event: jimmy was told at work he needed to do better at his job
Thought: I must not be good at anything, they don’t like me, they think I’m a screw up.
Emotion: sadness, depressed, angry
Behavior: jimmy withdrawals and calls in sick, jimmy might lash out, or jimmy might cry.

Often times people are judged by their reactions to activating events . We can not control others perceptions of us but we certainly can understand ourselves and help our own selves control those reactions and process those thoughts and emotions in the moment before reacting. Helping find the inner peace and be successful in our lives.
