April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and we are grateful to the Wayne County Commissioners for formally recognizing this important issue and standing with survivors in our community.

Sexual violence is often hidden behind shame and stigmaโ€”but it is far more common than many realize. By issuing this proclamation, the commissioners are helping bring this issue into the light and reminding survivors that they are not alone.

OneEighty was proud to stand besides the Commissioners, Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney, Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne and Holmes Counties, and The Children's Advocacy Center.

Did You Know? As part of our commitment to community health and safety, we want to share some important information regarding medication safety for women in midlife.

Recent data shows a sharp rise in overdose mortality among women ages 45โ€“64. This demographic is also commonly prescribed gabapentin to help manage menopausal symptoms. It is vital to know that gabapentin may be associated with an increased overdose risk, especially for individuals with a history of Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

Understanding the risks of your medications is a crucial step in protecting your health. If you have concerns, always have an open and honest conversation with your healthcare provider or pharmacist to ensure your treatment plan is safe for your unique health history. ๐Ÿ’œ
