Let’s talk about stress, recovery… and the Crap Zone.

Ever feel like you’re just stuck in go-mode, even when you’re not really getting anything done?

Not fully ON,
but definitely not OFF?

Welcome to what I call the
Crap Zone

that place where low-grade stress lives rent-free and recovery gets pushed to “someday.”

Truth is, recovery is performance.

If we want to show up strong, whether it’s for a
🏋🏼‍♀️workout
📓presentation
🌼or just life

we need both ends of the spectrum
🔋 Fully ON when it’s time to focus and give it your all.
🛌 Fully OFF when it’s time to rest and reset.

This back-and-forth is actually a skill, and resilient people do it well.

They ride the waves of stress and recovery with intention.

They notice when it’s time to pause, breathe, or take a walk instead of forcing their way through a fog.

Here’s the thing, sometimes we can’t just unplug the stress.

Life throws real, heavy things at us grief, illness, work chaos, family stuff. In those times, we can still turn up the recovery faucet. That might look like
💤 Better sleep
💧 More hydration
🍽 Nourishing food
💛 Saying no without guilt
🧘‍♀️ Taking a breath before reacting

Lately, I’ve been ending my day with a simple check-in that’s helped me stay out of the
Crap Zone and build more trust with myself

✨ What went well today?
✨ When did I pause and choose differently?
✨ What’s one thing I’m proud of?

This reflection practice isn’t about being perfect, it’s about noticing.

And every time we choose awareness over autopilot, we’re training that stress-recovery muscle a little stronger.

Growth Doesn’t Happen in Your Comfort Zone

If you’re on a fitness journey-whether you’re just starting or years in, one thing is certain:

Real growth happens when you get uncomfortable!!!!!!!!

Your comfort zone is familiar. It’s safe.

But it’s also where progress stalls.

If you want to build strength, confidence, and resilience-physically and mentally-you’ve got to be willing to step outside that zone.

Take the class that scares you.
Try the movement you always avoid.
Go up in weight, even if it feels heavy.
Say yes before you feel ready.

Why? Because that discomfort is where transformation begins.

And guess what? It’s OK to fail.

In fact, I want you to.

Failure isn’t failure-it’s feedback.

It tells you that you’re pushing your limits and challenging the version of yourself that says, “I can’t.”

Want to build more mental fortitude and get better at embracing the uncomfortable?

Why Strong ‘I AM’ Statements Matter

The way we speak to ourselves directly shapes our mindset, behaviors, and ultimately, our success.

If we constantly tell ourselves, “I’m not strong enough” or “I can’t do this,” our brain starts to believe it, reinforcing self-doubt and limiting our potential.

But when we flip the script and use strong ‘I AM’ statements, we create a powerful shift.

✨ They rewire your brain for success.
Your subconscious mind is always listening. When you repeatedly affirm “I am strong” or “I am capable,” you’re training your brain to seek proof of that truth. Over time, this builds confidence and resilience.

✨ They change how you show up.
Your thoughts shape your actions. If you declare “I am determined,” you’ll start approaching challenges with more grit. If you affirm “I am in control of my health,” your daily choices will align with that belief.

✨ They break cycles of self-doubt.
