The last few weeks as I've watched the world, i have had to pause and cry.
A core part of spiritual practice and energy medicine is learning how to witness harm without turning it into a story about who you are, without letting it consume your identity, and without bypassing it altogether. Itβs the capacity to stay present with what is happening, to see clearly, without needing to cause pain simply because pain is present. Itβs equanimity in motion.
Another layer of the work is learning how to listen to what your emotions are telling you, without letting them drive the wheel. Emotions carry information. They hold energy. When met with awareness, they become fuel for transformation rather than forces that control our choices. From there, solutions can be born through alchemy, compassion, and liberation, not reaction. Unification instead of dissociation. Love instead of shame.
It isnβt spiritual, healing, or courageous to look away from the harm unfolding in the world. Pretending it doesnβt affect us doesnβt make us stronger. What weβre being asked into is a deeper level of presence. A fuller activation. A willingness to meet whatβs happening with clarity and responsibility, so that what we bring forward heals instead of harms. Following the way of truth, taking into account all beings in our decision-making. Allowing our nervous systems to come into balance so we may walk the path of doing no harm, and holding it first for ourselves.
We are connected. Collective suffering is felt because it is shared. We are not meant to numb ourselves to it, or split ourselves in half. At the same time, joy, freedom, and beauty are not canceled out by grief or anger. They are meant to exist together. Emotions are energy in motion, not identities to live inside of.
The work is not to erase anger, sadness, or grief from our stories, but to refuse to build our solutions from them. Solutions born from rage and intended to wound only deepen suffering. Solutions informed by anger, yet rooted in liberation, create change.
Turn your awareness fully on. Stay witnessing. Stay compassionate. And when you lose the thread, return to the pulse. Build from freedom.
