Schedule Updates at River & Stone ✨

As our Upstairs space continues to find its rhythm, we’ve been listening closely to students and teachers!

Based on your feedback, we’re making a few schedule adjustments starting Friday, May 1.

Upstairs Evening Classes

New start times:

→ 4:30 PM
→ 5:45 PM
→ 7:00 PM

This means:

• 4:00 PM classes will shift later
• Fundamentals will move back by 15 minutes
• Transition time between classes will be a bit tighter (15 min)

Note: Yoga en Español will remain at 5:30 PM as previously scheduled.

Early Morning Classes

• Wednesday 6:00 AM stays the same
• Friday moves to 7:00 AM (starting 5/1)

We’re grateful for your flexibility as we continue to shape a schedule that supports both flow and accessibility across both spaces.

As always, check FitDegree for the most up-to-date schedule and room location.

See you in practice 🤍

🌷 YEAR OF STUDY ~ MAY 🌷

This month we're learning about Polyvagal Theory, the nervous system and stress regulation.

Join us for our May Reading Circle, a free hour to gather and talk about ideas that support your practice and your life.

For May, we’re reading The Path of the Anchored by Deb Dana. Her work invites us to understand the nervous system practically and to recognize what steadies us when life feels unsettled.

You’re welcome, whether you’ve read the whole book or are simply curious about the conversation.

✨With the addition of our new Upstairs studio space, we're looking for more volunteers!

💞We have an *amazing* group of volunteers at River & Stone, who are essential to our studio! They help with a variety of tasks behind the scenes to help our studio run smoothly. supporting teachers, welcoming students and helping care for the space.

In exchange, they receive a class each time they volunteer 🥰

🌿Interested? Reach out by DM or email. We're grateful to have this branch of community, taking care of our shared space and tasks. Everyone wins.

🔬 What if you approached your mind like an experiment? 🔬

Join RSYI School of Wisdom & History this month to explore ✨ The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali ✨ one of the most well-known ancient texts of yoga.

⏳️ The Sutras are over 2,000 years old and systematized yoga as a path and a practice. This is where the foundation of the 8 limbs of yoga and so many other timeless yogic teachings come from.

🧘 Before the time of downward dogs, yoga was a practice of stilling the mind. These teachings guide us into experiencing the now; moving from confusion and identification toward clarity, freedom, and deeper awareness.

Join Ellery in exploring this rich wisdom alongside Samkhya philosophy. Through meditation, reflection, and discussion, you’ll step into the role of observer, becoming a student of your own mind.

Through the lens of commitment (abhyāsa) and non-attachment (vairāgya), we'll explore how these pillars of yoga manifest. We'll inquire into how this practice extends beyond the internal, shaping how we relate, respond, and show up in the world.

No prior experience with the Yoga Sutras is needed. This workshop is open to all.
