MMR Vaccine Recommendations:
We will be following the AAP and the State of Massachusetts recommendations in regard to the Measles outbreaks in the United States. As of January 22, 2026, 416 confirmed* measles cases were reported in the United States in 2026. Among these, 413 measles cases were reported by 14 jurisdictions: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, and Washington. A total of 3 measles cases were reported among international visitors to the United States.
1. Continue to give routine MMR vaccinations at the earliest opportunity: 12 months and 4 years of age.
2. Continue to give MMR to unvaccinated individuals traveling internationally or to areas with an active outbreak.
3. At this time, routine vaccination of 6-11-month-olds is not recommended.
4. For travelers only, MMR vaccine may be administered as early as 6 months of age. As a reminder, this dose will not count toward the routine series.
In the event of a local outbreak, we will provide recommendations from the Department of Public Health regarding MMR vaccination strategies for infants and people without documented evidence of immunity.
