There are so many crucial moments in history when people have not stood up and spoken out against discrimination. Let's work together to not contribute to those wrongs.

ACTION ALERT!

The State Department is denying accurate passports to all trans and inters*x people - taking away a right that we have had for decades.

Banning accurate IDs and forcing trans people to out themselves whenever they show an ID will only push trans people out of public life and expose us to discrimination and violence.

Here is how you can help.

The State Department is accepting public comments through the end of this week for people to submit their concerns about this new passport policy. They are required by law to review every comment before taking action and you can submit your comment anonymously!

* Application For Passport (DS-11) https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2025/02/14/2025-02648/30-day-notice-of-proposed-information-collection-application-for-a-us-passport
* Renewal Application (DS-82) https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2025/02/18/2025-02697/30-day-notice-of-proposed-information-collection-us-passport-renewal-application-for-eligible
* Replacement, name change, correction (DS-5504)
https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2025/02/18/2025-02696/30-day-notice-of-proposed-information-collection-application-for-a-us-passport-for-eligible

Here is an example of what you may choose to write:

"I strongly oppose the proposed rule that would change the _______ form to reflect β€œs*x assigned at birth.”

This policy denies the scientific reality that inters*x and transgender people exist. Furthermore, this effort is a waste of money and time when the government is stating that they are trying to improve efficiency.

Requiring s*x assigned at birth on a US Passport serves no valid security or identity verification purpose. It merely exposes transgender individuals who are US citizens to potential discrimination and harassment while using their passport to travel internationally.

It is the duty of the US Government to protect all US citizens and this policy is clearly intended to inflict harm.

I urge the administration to reverse this policy and uphold a passport policy that respects the dignity and safety of all US citizens."

Very grateful to be Level 1 IFS (Internal Family Systems) trained and to be joining a 10 month clinical supervision consultation group to continue to deepen and strengthen my skills as an IFS practitioner.

During the pandemic I also became trained in virtual EMDR. These were the two trainings that I had wanted to add to my skills as a Psychotherapist/Clinical Social Worker, who has also completed a post graduate training in a Yearlong Mindful Educator Certification Program through Mindful Schools and three years of post-graduate training in Contextual Family Therapy through the Family & Play Therapy Center.

During the pandemic I closed my Center Mindful in person office and started working virtually, which I have continued to do. I have recently decided to take on more clients, as IFS has been so helpful to my current clients and has felt like a very effective modality for me to be practicing as a therapist.

If you or anyone you know is interested in working with a therapist with 30 years of clinical experience, working with diverse clients using a mindfulness and social justice informed approach, trained in IFS, EMDR, Contextual, and Mindfulness, you can contact me at 215-680-1944 or jesse@jessefrechette.com. I work mainly with adults but also see teenagers high school age and up. All of my sessions are currently virtual and I offer 30, 45, and 60 minute sessions, with longer sessions available on occasion if needed.

I am an out of network provider licensed in Pennsylvania and can provide my clients with a statement to submit to their insurance. I provide a free 20 minute consultation for new clients for us to determine if we may be a good match for each other. I also offer mindfulness coaching and mindfulness education to individuals, groups, schools, and organizations, most recently having worked with coaches and student captain athletes at Widener University and the President and Presidential Leadership Team at Widener as an independent contractor for The Ladipo Group.

Peaceful wishes,
Jesse

Sharing My Morning Mindfulness Practice

Practicing The Equanimity of Just Being
Coming Home to this Body with Curiosity
Sitting with this Newly Unfolding Moment
Currently Quiet or Busy Mind . . . Who Knows What Experience will Arise
That My True Nature Self May Observe Without Grasping or Pushing Away
With Compassionate, Friendly
Awareness
Like Waves at the Beach
Like Clouds Passing By in the Sky
Allowing Experience to Flow
Observing with a View that Recognizes Impermanence
That Allows Imperfection
That Investigates with Kindness
That Nurtures the Range of Experience that Simply Comes and Goes . . . is not Personal or Pervasive
Practicing Human Being, Not Doing
Practicing Life Mindfully Present
Right Here Right Now . . . Breathe
Taking a Seat at the Center of One's Own Life
What Am I Noticing Now
With Curious and Friendly Awareness:
Breath, Sounds, Body Sensations, Thoughts, Emotions Come and Go Like Waves or Clouds
Observing it All and Letting Experience Simply Flow in and Out of Awareness
Nothing to Do, Nowhere to Go, No One to Be
Just Breathe with Curiosity and Kind Awareness
I See You
I Am Here for You
I Am Choosing to Meet You With Self- Kindness
Every Part of You is Cared for Here
Kind Eyes, Kind Heart, Kind Mind, Kind Thoughts, Kind Words, Kind Actions
Practicing for Ourselves, Each Other, All Beings, This Earth
What Am I Grateful for Right Now?
Watching My Own Personal Gratitude Movie Unfold in My Mind's Eye
Breathing Each Gratitude Deeply In
Allowing Gratitude to Fill a Well in My Heart
May All Beings Be Safe, Well, and Have What They Need
May All Beings Be Peaceful and Free From Worry
May All Beings Have Their Basic Needs Met and Respond Compassionately Toward the Needs of One Another
May I Know That I Am Connected with the Larger Human Family Through Our Shared Human Conditions of Struggles, Challenges, Joys, Gratitudes, and the Routine and Mundane . . . May We Feel Connected Rather Than Isolated, Practicing Awareness That We Are Not Alone in Whatever We Are Experiencing . . . Other Human Beings Somewhere On This Planet We Share Are Sharing Whatever Experience We Are Having Also
Breathing In and Out with All Other Beings on the Planet
Feeling the Support of the Planet Beneath Us As It Rises Up to Meet Us in the Supportive Connection of Gravity

Hi Everyone,
I am sharing this amazing resource and would appreciate it if you would share this as well in hopes that more people who would benefit from Leslie Glass' work learn about this:

I am currently accepting clients in my psychotherapy practice.

If you are a large-bodied person on the female/feminine continuum (including cis-women, transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive experiences), who would like to work on issues related to your experience as a large person living in a society that is often unkind and negatively biased against large bodies, I am here for support.

I am licensed to provide psychotherapy to residents of the state of Pennsylvania.
(Stay tuned for online workshops that will be open to all!)

In case some of you would appreciate a little botanical boost, especially those who are experiencing winter, I can't share pics of our outside gardens, but here is how this gardener gets through the winter. This is the home office sanctuary I work out of and where I do my own ongoing growth and healing. I am so very grateful for this space which helps me to keep my own vessel full for the work I do as a psychotherapist, mindfulness coach, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging consultant. And it nourishes the gardener soul in me as well. πŸ’œπŸ™πŸΌ

Each sunrise, a new day, an invitation to meet our lives and each experience with fresh eyes, a beginner's mind, and an appreciation of the big and small sources of beauty, joy, and awe that we have available to us. May we pause and meet our struggles and challenges with self compassion and may we pause and really savor our joys and gratitudes. Bitter and sweet so often exist simultaneously in this human experience we are having: may we hold it all with compassion, a balanced awareness, and a knowing that we are connected with each other in this experience of being human. Whatever we are going through, may we allow it to be held in the larger container, the bigger heart of humanity that connects us with each other, rather than feeling isolated in our own hearts and minds, and may we be supported by all Sources available to us.

ATTENTION: OFFERING 3 HOUR IN PERSON FALL MINI-MINDFULNESS RETREAT THIS SUNDAY. SPACE STILL AVAILABLE AND THE FALL COLORS ARE AT PEAK.

Hello Everyone,
I am excited to share that I am offering our next in person 3 hour mini-mindfulness retreat, entitled "Meeting Ourselves Well: how courage, wisdom, compassion, and the lessons of autumn nature support the way," on Sunday, October 29th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Our last mini-mindfulness retreat, which was held this past Sept. 9th from 1-4pm, was Jesse/Center Mindful's first in person retreat since before the pandemic, and the feedback of practicing in a like-hearted community supported by the wisdom and lessons of nature, surrounded by the gardens and koi pond and the larger container of wisdom we have access to, was very positive.

Our last retreat was held on a Saturday and this one is being held on a Sunday for those who may have an easier time attending Sunday offerings.

When: Sunday, October 29th from 1pm to 4pm
Location: At our home in central Montgomery County, PA outdoors as weather permits surrounded by a koi pond water garden and other gardens, including many trees at their peak of fall color, and indoors if weather makes necessary. Address is 1405 Reiner Rd. Eagleville, PA 19403 (for GPS use Norristown)

Purpose: An opportunity for us to come together to co-create a supportive community of like-hearted mindfulness practitioners, to deepen our practice together, to invite our minds and bodies to relax and reset, to experience the benefits of practicing in nature including the wisdom and lessons that can speak to us through nature and the season of autumn.

Agenda: We will have an arriving practice to settle in. We will check in to share our common humanity in the spirit of the three key components of mindful self-compassion: loving, connected, presence for ourselves, each other, and all beings. We will engage in mindfulness talks and practices through sitting, walking, seeing what is visually present in nature in autumn (birds, koi and goldfish, a variety of bees and other winged insects, flowers, berries, trees with fall colors and other plants in autumn, and the elements of earth, air, sky, and water), a mindful eating practice with some delicious fall flavors, and some special activities to access mindfulness through our sense doorways and ways of knowing, including scents and textures. We will also be doing a communal mindful arts activity utilizing some of the items we collect from the gardens that remind us of autumn.

Between the practices Jesse will offer some mindfulness talks drawing upon the three types of courage needed to live life fully and discover true freedom (from Frank Ostaseski "The Five Invitations"), the four rivers of ancestral wisdom from the lifework of cultural anthropologist and Metta Institute teacher, the late Angeles Arrien, mindful self-compassion, and the awareness that nothing is permanent, personal, perfect, or pervasive. We will also hear from each other as our collective wisdom emerges from the group experience.

Investment: $70 per person for the three hour retreat includes a few fall treats for the mindful eating practice. If this is cost prohibitive for you please reach out to me as my goal would be to make this offering accessible to anyone who is interested while space is available.
Note: Maximum of 10 People to maintain a more intimate experience.

If you are interested and would like to register or you have additional questions email me at jesse@jessefrechette.com.

Rain Date: If it rains Sunday, October 29th retreat will be predominantly indoors with the windows and back sliding door open, with the intention of going outdoors if/when the rain breaks.

What to Bring: Dress appropriately as it may be windy and we plan to be sitting outside in the shade. I suggest wearing a sweater or sweatshirt and bringing a light weight jacket as well. Currently, the high temperature is expected to be in the 60s that date. Please bring a journal/notebook or something for some brief writing prompts. You may also wish to jot some things down that you would like to remember that arise from your experience as the afternoon unfolds. You may bring your own water bottle if you prefer, but filtered water and glasses will also be provided. Optional: You may bring a yoga mat in case you would like to sit part of the time on the ground at some point, but chairs will be provided.
Questions: Feel free to contact me if you have questions or would like to reserve your spot.
