Join us one week from today for our next CEU event- Adaptive Intimacy: Inclusive approaches to s*x(uality) ✨

Have you ever felt like your body and experiences were not represented in s*x education? Or have you wondered ways to be inclusive to a wide breadth of bodies and lived experiences in your classroom or office? Join us to discuss the systemic erasure of certain bodies, be introduced to diverse educational and therapeutic tools, and knowledge share on topics related to s*x education, therapy, disability justice, and more. 💗

This event will be offered in a hybrid setting for both in person connection and virtual inclusion for those who cannot be there to share a physical space. 💻

Raising Trans Kids: What to Expect When You Weren’t Expecting This-Rebecca Minor, LICSW

In a time of alarming and rising anti-transgender legislation, rhetoric, and violence, Rebecca Minor’s book is a thoughtful and comprehensive introduction to challenging cisnormativity, and understanding and supporting folks who identify on the gender diverse spectrum. While this book is marketed towards parents of trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer kids, it is a valuable resource for any person wishing to expand their understanding of trans issues, as well as challenging their assumptions, biases, and misconceptions....

Today marks the Autumnal Equinox for which the Northern Hemisphere astronomically shifts from the Summer days with more sunlight than darkness to the Winter season where darkness dominates the clock: Fall has come! Typically, we like to advocate for taking each Equinox as a celestial reminder to find balance and work to reflect on the solar shift that may or may not affect your personal mood and help prepare our minds for the upcoming season....

Worcester's Pride celebration, complete with a march and festival, was shortened due to sudden weather. Luckily, with quick communication and collective agreement to the shifting winds we saw nearly 200 vendors break down and clear out in time that only a dozen or so were still out as the rains began and the tornado warning proved to be a legitimate concern to get off the streets from the hours of 4 to 6 PM on Saturday....

📖 We’re hosting a book club! 📖

“Decolonizing Therapy” by Jennifer Mullan has been on our staff TBR list, so we decided to read it together and we want you to join us! 🌱

You don’t need to be a mental health professional to resonate with this book. It has a little bit of something for everyone. Come join us for our first meeting on August 22 at 4:30pm at our office space. Feel free to email us at info@darlingmentalhealth.com to confirm attendance or with any questions. 📕

This book club is a great opportunity to create connections, have meaningful conversations with like-minded individuals, and connect over important topics with others in the community. We hope to see you there! 🌈
