7/30 Panera about the experience of one family before, during, and after a diagnosis of FTD-ALS. Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD) is an often misdiagnosed and misunderstood

form of early onset dementia affecting people typically under the age of 60 years old. FTD presents itself quite differently than Alzheimer's Demetia in that one's memory is preserved until much later in the disease progression. With several variants presenting symptoms in behavior, language and/or motor functions, FTD can also appear with other neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS or Parkinson's Disease. You may find a wealth of further information at www.theAFTD.org. Gina is available for speaking engagements about FTD and her book, as well as a university guest lecturer to help spread awareness and education. Comprehensive Speech and Language Services is a private self-pay Speech and Language Therapy service owned and operated by Gina Biskupic M.A., CCC-SLP in Westfield, MA.

Alzheimer's Association Advocacy Day at the Massachusetts State House was a success. Thank you to local State Representative Michael Finn and the office of State Senator John Velis for the important conversations. The current bills help those with Alzheimer's and other dementias, including FTD, in early detection via biomarkers, caregiver support and education for home care workers. Advocating for one dementia can help them all. I'm grateful to have met up with fellow FTD advocates Dawn O’Gara, Katie Brandt, and Amy Almeida. It was a good day.💜❤️

There has been no greater surprise on the No Fault of His Own book tour than to be asked by my daughter to lecture about FTD to her senior Clinical Nursing Psychology class at Worcester State University. Thank you to Professor Laura Curtis and the WSU senior nursing students for the warm welcome. I have presented to audiences on this topic before, but there was something special about looking out into this audience and seeing Mia smiling back at me. 28 future nurses will enter the medical profession with clinical knowledge of FTD tied to a personal experience. FTD education and advocacy ✅

Special thanks to Deanna Lawrence, Executive Director of Brightview Senior Living-Danvers, for the invitation to speak alongside Gerontologist, Cole Smith, about FTD and my novel, NO FAULT OF HIS OWN. There was laughter, a few tears, a wonderful audience, and a whole lot of love and learning.
