Thinking about sleep training? Labor Day weekend is a great time to start.

***PREP NOW TO SLEEP TRAIN OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND*** If you are considering using a parent-led sleep training approach to teach your child to fall asleep independently and to connect sleep cycles, then you need to ensure that you have the mental and physical energy to commit to the plan and stay consistent. If you have been thinking about sleep training and don't have other plans over the Labor Day holiday, consider using that extra night off work to kick off sleep training. Many parents run into trouble because they begin haphazardly sleep training without a plan, or because they have next-day work commitments that cause them to fall back on sleep associations just to survive getting through the night. A subtle, but important element in any sleep training is deciding when to implement the plan. Importantly, sleep training isn't just about your strategy. You need to ensure that your baby has a solid schedule and routine and that all of his or her feeding needs are met and realistic. If you are thinking about sleep training over Labor Day weekend, then now is the time to begin to prepare your baby and yourself.
