I am happy to be back, and have updated some information. Please see below. Wishing everyone a great fall season!

General info 2021: Chrysalis Therapy & Wellness is a psychotherapy private practice that provides an integrative, holistic approach for serving children, adolescents, and families healing from adversity. It is founded and owned by Zaza Sakhat, LICSW since 2015, and offers individual, group, and family therapy. The mission of the private practice is to foster the healing process of children, adolescents, and families as they transform through experiencing safe and therapeutic relationships to overcome oppression, adversity, and trauma. The practice provides effective and integrative psychotherapeutic treatment needed for clients to achieve their treatment goals through accessing individual, group, and family therapy. Please check out the website for more information: www.zsakhattherapy.com.

Specialties: As many of you know, I have been studying Somatic Experiencing (SE) for the past 3 years, and am excited to finish up with the Advanced 2 online training module in September. My hope is to complete the certification, and to become an official Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) by the end of this year/beginning of next year. In the meantime, please check out my new profile on the Somatic Experiencing International (SEI) website: https://directory.traumahealing.org/.

Programs: In addition to the Teen Girls Group and the Raising Girls: Parenting Workshop Series, I have streamlined the various single session workshops into the CHRYS program, which stands for โ€œChildren Healing through Relaxation, Yoga, and Somatic experiencing.โ€ This program consists of a monthly workshop series called Let Your Body Lead. It will cover various themes throughout the year using body based approaches such as Somatic Experiencing, yoga, and dance movement therapy. So, please stay tuned for more information!

Referrals: I am returning to a case load of 35 clients per week starting on 9/20. Moving forward, if my schedule allows, I plan on only accepting 1-2 new clients a month beginning on 10/1. Please always check with me before you refer! The following contains specifics regarding the populations that I work with:
Early Childhood: Generalized Anxiety, AD/HD, ASD (high functioning)
Teen Girls: Trauma, Eating Disorders
Boys up to age 12 for individual therapy, 13+ family therapy context only
Some college age and adult women depending on diagnoses
1 pro-bono refugee child Arabic (Lebanese dialect) or English speaking.
Insurances: BCBS, OON (depends on the plan), Private Pay
Telehealth: I plan on continuing with mostly seeing clients via Telehealth as it is the safest platform at the moment. However, for specific clients who can not engage on video for several reasons, then I will open up 1-2 time slots a day for in-office visits. These clients must sign a COVID consent form agreeing to adhere to the CDC restrictions to include wearing a mask or they canโ€™t be seen in person.
