Prairietown Fire Department Our mission is to support our fire district and bring our community together.

It is the mission of the Prairietown Fire Department to protect the lives and property of the residents in the Prairie Fire Protection District from natural or manmade hazards and medical emergencies through supression, fire prevention education, and firefighter training. The Prairietown Fire Department supports the Prairie Fire Protection District by providing additional funding generated through the fund raising efforts of volunteers. The volunteers take part in a number of fund raising projects throughout the year which include our annual homecoming festival.

We previously maintained a waiting list. We previously had a women’s auxiliary. We previously had members who handled all the calls. However, those days are currently behind us. We are actively seeking members for fire and EMS services. If you would like more information or know someone who does, please visit www.prairietownfire.org. As time has evolved, our community has also undergone changes, and we require new individuals to continue our efforts.

Please refrain from any burning until we have significant amounts of rain. It is very dry and everything is going to go up very quickly. Also farmers as requested before have a tractor and tillage wquipment hooked up and ready to roll just in case.
