Thursday, May 22nd was a busy day for a Worthington staff who attended a conference in the Twin Cities – not only did she attend, she led breakout session presentations where she represented a Sanford Worthington project funded through a large grant received.

Claire Henning, registered dietician, spoke at the GusNIP NTAE National Convening to share about Sanford Worthington’s Rural Prescription Produce Program that has allowed us to work with our high risk/low income patients, provide nutrition education, and supplement the education with a monthly $50 allocation of dollars to spend on fresh fruits at veggies at our local HyVee grocery store. The 130+ participants (so far) have received vouchers each month for 6 months along with a check-in call for follow up and resource connections if needed. A successful team effort by the primary care clinic staff!
