75th Anniversary Spotlight - "Why are you going all the way out to Worthington? You'll never make it"
Our founder, the late Jack Albright, OD, graduated from North High School in 1940. After high school, he attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry for 2 years before being enlisted in the US Army during WW II. In the Army, he served in a field artillery unit as a First Lieutenant for 3.5 years, spending one year of that time in Japan.
After returning home, he completed his studies at The Ohio State University, graduating in 1948. The very next year, he decided to open Albright Eye Care in a small suburb of Columbus called Worthington.
Dr. Jack loved to tell the story that when he told friends and colleagues of his plans to open a practice in Worthington, many people said, "why are you going all the way out to WORTHINGTON, you'll never make it". He said for the first 5 years, he thought everyone was right! Then, as Worthington grew, the practice grew.
Thank you, Dr. Jack, for coming ALL the way out to Worthington. :)
