We are now offering echocardiography for your pets! ❤️🩺

An echocardiogram (echo for short) is an ultrasound study of the heart that can help diagnose and stage heart disease, asses heart murmurs, and look for abnormalities of the heart and its blood flow. Echos are often recommended before anesthesia or if a heart murmur is found on an exam. It is a painless procedure that is usually performed with your pet awake, and the results are reviewed by a cardiologist. Ask us today about getting an echo for your pet!

Meet Coco! She is a 14 year-old Chihuahua who started coming to see Whitney (RVT, CCAT) for recommended physical therapy after having weakness in her rear legs. Her twice-weekly plan consists of strengthening/coordination exercises, therapeutic laser treatments, and underwater treadmill. She may not admit it, but she enjoys the regular massages and all the attention she gets (as well as some cheese)! We love seeing how confident she is walking in the water, she's a natural.

We're extremely fortunate to have Whitney on staff at AHOW, as she has completed a specialty program to become a Certified Companion Animal Rehabilitation Therapist. Offering rehabilitation and physical therapy is just one more way we can improve your pet's quality of life. Ask us about rehab at your pet's next visit!
