As the owner of UPY, I thought it was important for me to experience our retreat to Roatan first hand, so I went as an attendee in 2023! (Thanks Lisa & Julie for letting me relax and not putting me to work!😅) I wasn’t sure about leaving my kids for 5 nights, especially internationally, but I DID IT and I’m SO happy I did!! ROATAN is a gorgeous island and it quickly became home away from home. 🏝️

I got to hug a sloth 🦥, zip line 🌳 , practice yoga in paradise 🧘🏻‍♀️ , bond with UPYogis❤️, and most importantly, I gave myself the opportunity to do something completely new!! It was my first time traveling with a group of super cool yogis! My friend from college came with me and we roomed together!! It was so much FUN and so good for the soul! 💫

Before this, I had been to many places but never Roatan and it felt very new and foreign since I didn’t know much about it. So yes- it was out of my comfort zone. I trusted Julie and Lisa (they are experts and Julie even has a house there so she knows the island inside and out!). I am so glad I got to experience the MAGIC of Roatan island. This trip was truly above and beyond my expectations. If you’re thinking about doing it, just do it!! I know I’m biased but…. 20/10 recommend!! ☺️

UPY is proud to again host this donation-based class for the third annual Bend Don’t Break campaign, supporting the Warrior Within Yoga Project.

Join Danielle for this unheated candlelit 90-minute Restorative Yoga class, with hands-on assists offered.

If you’re unable to attend, please consider donating to this amazing foundation. Any amount is so greatly appreciated.

The WWYP provides evidence-based and trauma-informed mind-body practices like yoga to veterans, service members, first responders, and their families. In addition to partnering with organizations that want to implement yoga programs, the WWYP offers free “Warrior” classes accessible to all who have served.

Bittersweet news! Boston Children’s Hospital has decided that they will no longer host the annual Yoga Reaches Out yogathon event after nearly 15 years! We want to emphasize how incredibly proud and grateful we are for the opportunity to fundraise and show up in service for the greater good of humanity. What an incredible, meaningful journey it’s been. 🙏

The UPY TEAM has been the 🌟Top Fundraising Team🌟 year after year!!! In recent years, our team has been led by co-captains, Lisa Howard and Julie Elpus, prior to that Jen Palmer and Lisa led the team, and in the early years, Jen and Jacqui Bonwell were team co-captains, combining Jacqui’s community and the UPY community. 🫶🏼

Let’s always remember when our amazing teachers took the stage!! Jen Palmer took the main stage in 2023, Lisa Howard in 2024 and Julie Elpus in 2025!! 🧘🏻‍♀️ Jen, Lisa and Julie have been involved with Yoga Reaches Out since the beginning, always bringing a positive light and a powerful energy to the event.

THANK YOU to the entire UPY team and community for all your fundraising efforts which have made a HUGE impact helping patients and families at Boston Children’s Hospital. Every single person who attended YRO, went to a benefit class or donated to our team over the years helped make a difference. We couldn’t have done it without you. 🙌

Fall Into Rest Workshop with Danielle! 💫

You need rest. Yes, YOU. Set aside time for yourself to rest your body, mind, and soul.

Join Danielle P. for this healing 2-hour workshop where you’ll practice restorative yoga and yoga nidra (yogic sleep). This class is truly for beginners and advanced students alike. Dress in your most comfy clothes (studio is about 78 degrees), pack some socks, bring your eye pillow or a light face cloth, and prepare to spend the entire class on the floor. Hands-on assists will be offered during the restorative yoga portion.

A limited number of handmade eye pillows will be available for sale for $5 (cash or Venmo).
