Big news this week! PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS and I’ll be honest with you, I’m glad. The old name was very misleading in ways that genuinely affected how women were diagnosed and treated. A name that reflects the hormonal and metabolic full picture of this condition is long overdue.

But… I’m also realistic. A name change doesn’t automatically mean every health professional will take a whole-body approach. It doesn’t mean blood sugar, inflammation, and nervous system regulation will suddenly become part of every treatment plan.

What it does mean is that the conversation is shifting. And that gives me real hope. 🤍

In the meantime, the approach that has always worked hasn’t changed. Support your hormones. Balance your blood sugar. Treat yourself like the whole, complex person you are.

For so long the only advice I got about blood sugar and PCOS was “avoid sugar and eat low carb.”

But that advice truly missed the entire point.

Blood sugar instability is one of the root causes of PCOS symptoms. When blood sugar spikes, insulin rises, and elevated insulin directly increases testosterone. This is what disrupts your cycle, leads to weight gain, makes acne worse, and makes you feel EXHAUSTED no matter how much sleep you get.

The fix isn’t simply cutting carbs. It’s balancing your meals.

Protein at every meal, especially breakfast, is the *single* most impactful change I made. It took many months of real consistency to feel a meaningful difference, but when things started to click, the results were real.

It's not as complicated and overwhelming as you think. 🙃 You do not have to go on the keto diet or cut carbs completely, and you don't have to be miserable in all social settings involving food!

👉A high protein breakfast will help you reduce insulin resistance and lose weight with PCOS. You also won't be starving by the time lunch rolls around, it will give you more energy, and it will help promote hormone balance.

👉Ditch the all or nothing mentality. If you don't see progress in 1 week - don't give up. PCOS is a lifelong condition; it's the long game. Learning how to eat more mindfully and intuitively will help you create a healthier more balanced relationship with food.

👉Don't cut all carbs! Add IN complex carbohydrates to help balance blood sugar. These foods contain tons of fiber (crucial for digestion) and vitamins that help reduce inflammation (puffiness). They also help reduce brain fog!

Imagine a day when you feel comfortable in your body and confident showing up in the world. You know exactly what foods to eat to make you look and feel your best. You aren't afraid to put on the bikini and you can wear whatever you have hanging in your closet.
