Meet Michell Battistella she works for an engineering firm in York, Pennsylvania, where she manage facilities and serve as a document manager. Prior to this role, she spent more than 20 years as an EMT, including over 13 years working in the Emergency Department at Wellspan Hospital. Although her EMT certification has since been expired, her background in emergency services continues to shape her commitment to service and teamwork. Motivated by a desire to give back to the community, she discovered Search 93 while browsing online and submitted an application-an experience that has since become an important part of her life. Michelle joined the organization in November 2024 and has participated in four searches to date. She has completed ICS 100, 200, 315, 317, 907 and 29. Outside of search activities, Michelle enjoys hiking, kayaking, e-biking, and spending time with family and friends.

This team, is more than a team. It is a family. Thanks to George for setting up the shakedown hike. Today, team memners enjoyed a hike, and checked the gear they use for searches in the cold windy snowy weather. The best part, family members of the searchers came alone to enjoy.

On Wednesday, Jan 7th, team memebrs had the opportunity to talk to a group of Girl Scouts, about Search and Rescue. The girls had the opportunity to learn about our K9, and gear that is used. K9 Unity and Vogue conducted a short demonstration showing how our K9 work. At the end of the presentation, the girls had the opportunity to meet the K9. Thanks for a great evening sharing what we do with you.

The two body armor vests are in our hands. A very special gift from our secret Santa, who is a widowed spouse of a retired police officer. Wanted to ensure our safety during special search details. We are currently awaiting two K9 vest to arrive. So keep watch for the pups to display their new vests once they arrive.
