Today, I'm warming up the candles with my heat gun to make sure the air bubbles all float to the top and pop.
Small pockets of air get trapped when the exterior of the candle cools and sets up before the inside. The air pockets lead to cracks in the candles. It's the nature of the beast in candlemaking, unfortunately. Especially in winter!

A small crack is not usually a problem when burning your candle, but large cracks can affect the way it burns. If a large fissure opens up and all the melted wax flows down into the air pocket, it can leave the wick too long, which increases the size of the flame. Warming with the heat gun fills up these large pockets.

ALWAYS extinguish your candles prior to leaving the room. Keep your wicks trimmed to about 1/4 inch.

Saturday was a great day at Abundant Living Gallery for their Spring Fling event. We tasted some different kinds of honey, and coffee, and even Lavender Hot Chocolate, which was lovely! These products are available at the shop.

Hey family and friends!!

We just can not catch a break with this weather. It's been so up and down. This morning we woke to a few inches of snow that fell overnight. Thanks to Wyandotte's infrastructure upkeep, we still have power.

Today, the custom scent I talked about yesterday has been added to the website, as well as the Aquarius, Pisces, and Aries scents!

We don't have photos of the candles yet, but wanted to get them on the website! Remember, be the first to order and you'll get a bonus candle for free!

I won't type your ears off (eyes out?)...

I hope everyone stays warm and safe!! And hopefully this was the last winter weather for us. We can hope.

Hey friends and family!

I hope everyone is keeping warm during this inconsistent weather! One of our dogs just refuses to go out during the rain and wet snow. She needs an umbrella! Maybe some boots, too. We have been so blessed to have maintained power through all of these storms so far. So many prayers have gone out and continue to those who have not been so fortunate.

Yesterday I took a road trip out to the farm to pick up more beeswax. As usual, the drive was beautiful!
