Being in my 30s and 3 years postpartum… my approach to fitness has not only changed, but so has the movement I’m choosing for my body.
With separated abs and a c-section scar to prove of the long road to repair I had ahead of me, I have a story.
I remember 2 weeks postpartum and I attended a wedding and I wore a 1 inch heel thinking I was solid because I always wore high heels. This was nothing. Well my heel stepped on a pebble and I began to fall forward for miles… like it felt like I was stepping trying to recover for a century of time. And then suddenly Arthur grabbed me and saved my life so I didn’t face plant. My core was so weak I couldn’t correct and stand myself back up from a TINY misstep... never in my life lol
This is why we do functional fitness. Because now I can correct mid misstep and keep going without missing a beat. Actually I tripped down stairs the other day.. no railing, wasn’t even paying attention, thought there was only 1 step when there was 2. A misstep like that 3 years ago would’ve taken me out. But ya girl being the graceful fairy she is corrected and stabilized to keep it moving.
