To all the athletic trainers out there…thank you!

I'd like to tell you about an American hero.
A hero who saved a life a few days back.
A hero that I'd like for us to thank.

It was Monday night when Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest on the football field.
Within 30 seconds, Bills Assistant Athletic Trainer Denny Kellington was performing CPR on Hamlin, as the Bills player had lost his pulse.
Kellington also used a defibrillator as he was joined by trainers and doctors with the Bills and the Bengals.

Right there on the 40 yard line, Denny Kellington saved a life.

Team doctors and athletic trainers work hard to put in emergency action plans for each and every game- much like athletes, they practice each week to be ready for the game.

According to the Buffalo News Sports an ambulance awaits inside the stadium. A physician specialized in airway management is on-site. A Level 1 trauma center is designated nearby. Medical staff rehearses the plan every year. Each crew knows who calls the ambulance on the field and when to summon the specific medical support.

On Monday night, a group of dedicated professionals sprung into action, led by Denny Kellington.

I hear that Denny is a humble man- he'd never brag about saving Damar Hamlin's life.

But how about all of us here in America and around the world thank a dedicated Bills athletic trainer?

An athletic trainer named Denny Kellington.

A true American Hero. 🇺🇸

Wire floating in the knee!

Broken wire into the knee.

Very interesting case with a patient who presented to my clinic with a previous kneecap fracture fixed. One of the wires broke and migrate into the knee joint. Here is a video of the surgery to remove the wire.😳

UFC fighter breaks tibia during a kick. It is incredible to see the amount of force involved in these strikes. The fighter will have to undergo surgery to stabilize the bone and has a good chance to return to the cage.
