People often ask us—“Do you ever get burnt out?”
The honest answer? Yes. We’re human.
The fuller answer? Not often. This work refuels us.

Supporting people with T1D isn’t a job we stumbled into. Every clinician on our team felt called to do this—personally, professionally, and purposefully. It’s meaningful. It’s energizing. And yes, it still comes with tough days… just like diabetes itself.

We don’t take this work lightly.
But we do believe in finding moments of humor, lightness, and relief in a condition that can feel overwhelmingly heavy.

If this resonates, let us help shoulder some of that weight.
You don’t have to manage T1D alone.

The holidays shouldn’t revolve around your weight.
Truly.
Your memories deserve more space than the number on a scale.

But food noise is real when you live with T1D.
So is the pressure to “be good,” “stay in range,” and somehow enjoy yourself at the exact same time.

Our suggestion?
The same one we use ourselves: 80/20.
About 17 well-balanced meals each week… and the rest gives you room to enjoy the season like a human being—not a robot chasing perfect numbers.

Movement still helps.
Portion awareness still helps.
Planning ahead still helps.
But obsessing over every calorie or carb gram? That’s a fast track to burnout.

You can enjoy the holidays and protect your health.
You can stay flexible and stay grounded.
You can make space for joy without losing your way.

If you want support from a team that actually gets it—clinically and personally—we’re here to help you navigate the season with confidence.

If you’ve been curious about the Twiist Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) system, our team took a close look at how it performs in real life—setup, daily use, accuracy, and the learning curve that comes with any new device.

This isn’t marketing copy. It’s what our clinicians who live with diabetes actually noticed when using Twiist themselves: what felt intuitive, what took adjusting, and where the system may be most helpful for certain users.

If you’re exploring your AID options or simply want a clearer picture of how Twiist works, this review will give you a grounded starting point.

Continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) have reshaped diabetes care, streaming near-real-time glucose data to our phones, watches, and insulin pumps.

Devices like Dexcom G7 and Libre 3 Plus don’t just show where glucose is now—they reveal where it’s heading, and increasingly power automated insulin delivery (AID).

CGMs have come a very long way from wired, three-day sensors with so-so accuracy, and there are even more CGM upgrades on the way that promise longer wear, better comfort, and tighter integration with pumps and apps.

👉 Here are our tips on optimizing your CGM alert settings: https://bit.ly/4piScci

What happens when your insulin pump fails, even if you’re an expert?

When Kathryn Gentile-Alvarez, MS, ACSM-CEP, EIM II, CPT, CSNC, CDCES, and Director of Exercise Physiology & Teen/Young Adult Specialist at Integrated Diabetes Services, experienced a pod failure, she used it as an opportunity to walk through her real-time troubleshooting process.

It’s a great reminder that even seasoned professionals face challenges with diabetes technology—and that success comes from knowing how to respond calmly and effectively. Humor helps too! 😉
