Heading somewhere sunny for Spring Break? ☀️🌴 While saltwater can feel great, it can also be tough on your skin. Here are a few dermatologist-approved tips to keep your skin happy and hydrated on vacation.

Tip 1: Don't Skip the Sunscreen! Apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher before you head out. Don't forget to reapply every 2 hours, or more often if you're swimming.

Tip 2: Rinse, Rinse, Rinse 🚿 Saltwater is dehydrating. As soon as you're done swimming for the day, rinse off the salt residue with fresh water to prevent dryness and irritation.

Tip 3: Moisturize Like You Mean It 💧 After rinsing, apply a generous layer of moisturizer to your face and body. This replenishes the hydration your skin has lost to the sun, salt, and wind.

When it comes to melanoma, early detection can be life-saving. That's why we want you to know the ABCDEs—a simple visual guide that could help you spot warning signs during your monthly self-checks.

A - ASYMMETRY One half of the mole doesn't match the other half.

B - BORDER Edges are irregular, ragged, notched, or blurred.

C - COLOR The color isn't uniform. Look for shades of brown, black, tan, red, white, or blue.

D - DIAMETER Larger than 6mm (about the size of a pencil eraser), though melanomas can be smaller.

E - EVOLVING Any mole that's changing in size, shape, color, or texture—or starts bleeding or itching.
