It begins with having the right mindset.
I began this journey back in February of 2019 after being diagnosed with a chronic inflammatory disease called Sarcoidosis. The disease affected my lungs, liver, kidneys, bladder, skin and spleen. I was in and out of the hospital for months. During that time, I was pumped with so much medication and steroids that my glucose levels spiked tremendously, which led to a diabetes diagnosis and 2 back to back surgeries. I gained over 60 lbs within a 3-month time frame. After a month of having to take 12 different medications daily (including insulin for diabetes), I was tired mentally, emotionally, and physically...so much so that I began to spiral into a depression. I had to rebuke that spirit quickly and find the strength to get back to my normal & happy self. So I put all of my energy into healthy eating and exercise.
First thing first, I had to be more conscience about what I put in my body. I had to look at foods from a healthier perspective.
“Eat to live, not live to eat!” I have to most definitely acknowledge Terry Starks because when I started this journey, he laid out the foundation and helped guide me in the right direction. I went from weighing 260 lbs to my current weight being 190 lbs. So as I continue this journey, I plan to share, encourage, and motivate along the way.
