I’m excited to share that I’ll be presenting at the Latino Mental Health Association of New Jersey’s 2026 Annual Conference, “Fuerza en Unidad: Intersections of Healing & Collective Action,” at The College of New Jersey on March 20–21, 2026.
My presentation, “The Importance of the Immigration Story in Therapy,” explores how migration shapes identity, family dynamics, and mental health across generations. I’ll be talking about how bringing clients’ immigration stories into the therapy room can deepen understanding, honor resilience, and open up new possibilities for healing.
In this session, I’ll share:
* How immigration journeys become part of family narratives and impact belonging, self-worth, and relationships.
* Narrative-based tools for working with migration trauma, separation, and cultural transitions in therapy.
* Culturally responsive approaches that bridge systemic practices with the realities immigrant communities face today.
If you work with immigrant individuals, couples, or families—or you are passionate about mental health and migration—I’d love to see you there.
