For caregivers, it's important to find and create achievable self-care goals that can help you recharge mentally, physically, and emotionally at the end of each week.

These 3 tips are a great way to carve out time for yourself this weekend to relax.

✔️ Sip your favorite tea without distractions. Relaxing with a hot beverage in hand encourages mindfulness and can give caregivers a quiet moment of reflection amid a busy schedule.

✔️ Pick a song that soothes you, lie down, close your eyes, and just listen. You can even create a "Caregiver Calm" playlist that you can return to for a one-song reset each week.

✔️ Take 5 minutes before bed to enjoy a few light stretches. Roll your neck, move your shoulders in circles, and engage in some gentle twists. These movements can help you release the tension that builds from lifting, standing, or bending all day.

Did you know seniors are more prone to dehydration? As the weather gets warmer and you and your clients do more outdoor activities, here are three tips to help you stay happy and healthy this summer!

Tip #1: Stay hydrated and beat the heat! Offer water frequently and opt for hydrating snacks like watermelon. Avoid drinking sugary beverages as these can make you or your client more thirsty.

Tip #2: Protect your client from sun exposure by using a high SPF sunscreen, dress in light and breathable clothing, and limit your outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day, like morning or evening.

Tip #3: Don't forget about yourself, caregivers! Take 10-minute breaks, practice mindfulness, and get outside and enjoy some fresh air. Caring for others always starts with caring for yourself.

With beautiful late spring weather all around us, it's a great time to refresh your physical and mental wellness routine!

Here are some easy tips to enjoy the season AND improve your wellness:

🌱 Get Outside & Enjoy Nature Together: Take a short walk around your neighborhood, local parks, or gardens. Walking together not only provides physical exercise for both the caregiver and the client, but also boosts mood and energy levels.
🌱 Hydrate and Refresh: Encourage water intake! Warmer weather can increase the need for hydration, so be sure to drink water throughout the day. You can make it fun by offering fruit-infused water or making flavored ice cubes with fruits and herbs.
🌱 Eat Seasonal & Nutrient-Rich Foods: Prepare fresh meals together. Late spring brings fresh fruits and vegetables like strawberries, peas, spinach, and asparagus. Encourage your client to enjoy these seasonal foods, and even consider making a cooking project out of it.

Happy Earth Day! Today is all about celebrating the environment, and there are lots of ways you and your clients can contribute to a happier, healthier planet.

🌎 Try gardening together! Gardening not only allows you and your client to grow something together, but studies show gardening has a positive impact on both your mental and physical health.
🌎 Get outside! Whether you take a walk or a scenic drive, connecting with nature is a great way to promote feelings of happiness, joy, and relaxation.
🌎 Reduce and recycle! One of the major components of Earth Day is environmental stewardship. Collecting recyclables and reducing the amount of waste we produce can help keep our environment clean and healthy.
🌎 Cook a hearty meal! A delicious meal with local produce can promote sustainability and the livelihoods of local farmers.
