👀…I’ve been busy!

Some exciting changes have been underway while I’ve been MIA from social media.

🛋 When I started this business, I was strictly offering music therapy services, mostly to toddlers and young children. While I loved this work (and still do!), I started to feel a pull to widen the scope of my services to focus more on mental health for kids, teens, and adults. I started supervision towards my license in professional counseling, and now predominantly see clients for counseling (with a sprinkling of music here and there). I thought a name change was in order to better reflect the services I am offering.

🌄 Introducing…Sunrise Therapy Services, LLC! I’m so grateful to be on this journey working alongside folks as they heal, learn, and grow.

📍I also moved locations! I am so excited to now be located in Shillington, in a beautiful, warm space that has been created in partnership with IUCC and a grant funded by the Berks County Community Foundation. Looking forward to seeing this space evolve alongside the folks that walk through its doors.

Join us on Thursday, January 6 at 1pm for a music-assisted meditation with board-certified music therapist, Cara Hart.

In this meditation, Cara will help you ease into a meditation practice with a gentle song followed by spoken cues for deep breathing and a brief guided visualization.

One year ago, my very first music therapy client entered this room. Since then, I started accruing hours to become an LPC, transitioned to provide predominantly talk therapy (with music therapy infused whenever indicated), and have held close to 400 sessions here.

One year into practice, I’m in awe of what a privilege it is to be people’s therapist. To sit with people in their pain and struggle, to hear their stories, to belly laugh with them, to sing and play and dance, and to bear witness to their vulnerability and strength. I learn so much daily from the people who come into this space, and I am so humbled by this work. ✨
