Many of us have been seeking a structured DBT group—and I’m excited to share that my wonderful colleague, Dr. Sarah Gerloff, will be launching one this November. Her group offers a supportive space to build skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
This group will be an adult focused, structured, skills-based therapy group.
Group will focus on teaching individuals:
- to manage intense emotions
- navigate relationships effectively
- tolerate distress without harmful behaviors
- and stay grounded in the present moment
Rooted in cognitive-behavioral principles and mindfulness, DBT group focuses on four core modules:
mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Sessions typically include psychoeducation, skills practice, and homework, all within a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. The goal is to help participants build a life worth living by increasing emotional resilience and behavioral flexibility.
