Did you hear?! Registration for the Junior League of Reading’s 2026 Young Women’s Summit is OPEN!

YWS is open to all Berks County girls in grades 6-8. Participants may attend the weekends of February 28th or March 7th. It is FREE of charge to all participants.

Throughout the weekend, attendees will participate in a variety of fun activities focused on strengthening their confidence, serving the community, developing leadership skills, building empathy, and honoring their mental health and well-being. Many of us have been seeking a structured DBT group—and I’m excited to share that my wonderful colleague, Dr. Sarah Gerloff, will be launching one this November. Her group offers a supportive space to build skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

This group will be an adult focused, structured, skills-based therapy group.

Group will focus on teaching individuals:
- to manage intense emotions
- navigate relationships effectively
- tolerate distress without harmful behaviors
- and stay grounded in the present moment

Rooted in cognitive-behavioral principles and mindfulness, DBT group focuses on four core modules:
mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Sessions typically include psychoeducation, skills practice, and homework, all within a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. The goal is to help participants build a life worth living by increasing emotional resilience and behavioral flexibility.
