✨ Women’s History Month Spotlight ✨

This month, we honor Jane Honikman, a woman whose lived experience helped transform perinatal mental health support around the world.

After struggling with postpartum depression herself, Jane recognized something powerful and painful. So many women were suffering in silence. Instead of accepting that reality, she changed it. She founded Postpartum Support International, building one of the most influential global networks dedicated to supporting individuals and families during pregnancy and postpartum. What began as one woman speaking honestly about her experience became a worldwide movement of education, advocacy, and accessible care.
Because of Jane’s courage, millions of women now have language for what they are experiencing. They have screening tools. They have trained professionals. They have support lines. Most importantly, they have hope.

Perinatal mental health conditions affect 1 in 5 women, yet for generations they were minimized or misunderstood. Jane helped bring these conversations into the light and reminded the world that maternal mental health matters.

Her work is part of why our practice shows up the way we do. It is why we prioritize compassionate, evidence based care for women in pregnancy and postpartum. It is why we create space for honest conversations about anxiety, depression, identity shifts, and the emotional weight that can come with motherhood. It is why we lead with validation instead of judgment and support instead of silence.
We believe deeply that no woman should feel alone during this chapter of her life. Supporting mothers is not just part of what we do. It is something we care about wholeheartedly.

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate women who turn pain into purpose and create lasting change. Jane Honikman is one of them, and we are honored to continue the work. 💛

As Eating Disorder Awareness Week comes to a close, we want to continue the conversation.

Disordered eating does not pause for pregnancy.
Body image struggles do not disappear postpartum.

The perinatal period can increase vulnerability for anyone with a current or past eating disorder. Rapid body changes, outside comments, pressure to “bounce back,” breastfeeding decisions, exhaustion, and shifting identities can all become triggers.

This isn’t about shame.
It’s about awareness … and making sure moms don’t feel like they have to hide what they’re going through.

When providers, partners, and families understand the risks, moms are more likely to feel seen, supported, and safe asking for help.

If you or someone you love is navigating pregnancy or postpartum while also managing a history of disordered eating, support exists. Recovery in this season is absolutely possible.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Caroline, LCSW, CCTP! 🎉

Today we get to celebrate someone who is truly all around wonderful. Caroline is one of the kindest, warmest, most gentle souls, and that energy pours into everything she does. Her presence alone makes people feel safer.

As a trauma therapist and ART provider, Caroline has such a beautiful way of helping clients release shame and better understand their emotional responses. She is deeply passionate about psychoeducation, helping people make sense of why their minds and bodies respond the way they do. She reminds clients that their reactions are not flaws, but protective adaptations. That perspective alone can be life changing.

Caroline creates a therapeutic space that feels steady, supportive, and real. Clients feel heard. They feel validated. They feel safe enough to slowly rebuild trust with themselves. Whether she is supporting someone through trauma, eating disorder recovery, body image concerns, anxiety, or self-esteem challenges, she leads with compassion and respect. Her work is grounded in approaches like IFS and DBT, and she practices through a Health at Every Size and intuitive eating lens that honors autonomy and dignity.

She supports adolescents 14 and older and adults throughout Pennsylvania virtually, and welcomes clients in person at our Royersford office. She has such a natural connection with young adults navigating big transitions, and her authenticity and candidness make her not only an incredible clinician, but someone clients genuinely trust.

Caroline, we are so proud of the therapist and human you are. The care you give your clients and this team is steady, thoughtful, and deeply felt. We are so lucky to have you. Wishing you a birthday filled with joy, rest, and everything you deserve. 🤍✨

The postpartum season is tender. It is powerful. It is beautiful. And it can also be incredibly vulnerable.

More than half of pregnancy-related deaths occur after delivery, during the weeks and months when so many mothers are expected to simply “bounce back.” Black women are disproportionately affected during this postpartum period.
Source: CDC Maternal Mortality Review Committees

That truth matters.

Because postpartum care does not end at six weeks. Healing does not end once the baby arrives. And support should never quietly fade during one of the most life-altering transitions a woman will ever experience.

For many Black mothers, this season carries additional layers shaped by systemic inequities, medical bias, and gaps in follow-up care. These disparities are not about strength or resilience. Black women have always embodied both. They are about whether systems are listening, responding, and protecting the way they should.

At Everlasting Wellness, we believe in women supporting women. We believe in showing up consistently, not just for the appointment, but for the whole person. Our mission is rooted in compassionate, evidence-based care that honors each client’s lived experience. We create spaces where mothers can exhale. Where they are believed. Where their pain is not minimized. Where their stories are respected.
Postpartum mental health is maternal health. Advocacy is care. Ongoing support is essential.

Every mother deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported long after delivery. And as a community, we are committed to being part of that support. 🤍

02/23/2026

February is Black History Month, a time to honor the strength, brilliance, resilience, and immeasurable contributions of Black individuals, families, and communities. It is also a time to hold space for truth.

In the United States, Black women are nearly 3 times more likely to die from pregnancy related causes, and Black infants are nearly 2 times more likely to die before their first birthday compared to their White counterparts.

These numbers are not just statistics. They represent mothers. Babies. Families. Stories. They reflect systemic inequities in healthcare, access, advocacy, and safety that continue to impact Black families at disproportionate rates.

At Everlasting Wellness, our mission is rooted in compassionate, evidence based care that honors every individual’s story and lived experience. As a perinatal and maternal mental health practice, we believe that supporting families means acknowledging the realities that shape their experiences, including the very real disparities that exist in maternal and infant health.

Black maternal health matters. Black babies matter. Black families deserve safety, advocacy, respect, and equitable care not just during Black History Month, but every single day.

We remain committed to creating spaces where clients feel seen, heard, and supported, and to continuing education, awareness, and advocacy that move us closer to true health equity. Honoring Black history includes working toward a future where these statistics no longer exist. 🤍

We’re currently accepting new clients, with daytime and afternoon appointments available in both our Royersford and Wyomissing offices. If you’ve been thinking about reaching out for support, this might be your sign.

Our mission has always been rooted in something simple but powerful. We want every person who walks through our doors to feel safe, respected, and truly understood. Healing is not one size fits all. It’s personal. It’s layered. And it deserves care that honors your story.

Everything we do is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and deep respect for the resilience people carry, even when they don’t see it in themselves. We believe in collaboration, in going at your pace, and in helping you build the tools and confidence to move forward in a way that feels steady and sustainable.

We consistently support individuals and couples navigating trauma, pregnancy & infant loss support, anxiety, depression, perinatal and reproductive experiences, and the many stressors life can place on relationships and self-worth. We offer EMDR therapy, adolescent therapy 14 and older, adult therapy, and couples counseling in both Royersford and Wyomissing.

If you’ve been carrying a lot on your own, you don’t have to keep doing that. We’re here, and we would be honored to walk alongside you. 💛
