                                            In his book, Atomic Habits, James Clear defines the term implementation intention as the “plan you make beforehand about when and where to act”. 
Reading this got me thinking on the ways I already do use this in my life, and all the ways I would like to use it in my life. 
We always say “I need to start exercising” or “I’m going to eat better”, and guess what, we might do it for a day or a week but it eventually drops off. 
When we want to form new habits, habits that are proactive to our health and wellness or habits that will help us become the best version of ourselves that we want to be, it’s often so hard to find the motivation to continue the habits over the long run. 
By setting intentions of habits we want to form, it takes the pressure off of actually performing them in the moment. So next time you think about how you need to exercise more, put it in your calendar the days, times, and and places you’re going to do it this coming week. 
I recently began doing this myself as I’m trying to add more conditioning into my own training 🥴 
Ex- Mon strength | Tues steady state | Weds strength | Thurs intervals | Fri strength 
Building new and productive habits are essential for our well being, both in the present and for our longevity in the future. This formula can be used in all aspects of our lives whether it’s our physical health, mental health, professional lives, or relationships with our partner/family/friends. So why not start now 🤷🏻♀️
