🏥💥CLINIC SPOTLIGHT💥🏥

This week, we are proud to spotlight our Rapid Care!

Rapid Care has proudly served our community a little over 3 years, providing convenient, high-quality healthcare when it is needed most. The clinic is overseen by Dr. Chad Williams, whose dedicated team includes full-time nurse practitioners Beth Dalton and Cassidy Hensley. Rapid Care is also supported by an exceptional group of part-time and fill-in providers, including Dr. Laurie Ann Ferguson, Susan Davis, NP, and Daisy Edwards, DNP.

When Rapid Care was first envisioned, the goal was simple: meet the growing need for accessible healthcare during late evenings and weekends. Our Rapid Care model is intentionally different from traditional urgent care clinics. Patients are charged the same co-pay they would pay when visiting their family care physician, making quality care more affordable and accessible to our community.

We are also excited to share that X-ray services will be available starting in April, offered Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Rapid Care operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and the community's support has been incredible. We sincerely thank everyone who has trusted us with their care, and we look forward to continuing to provide the quality healthcare our community has come to know and rely on for many years to come.

Current Hours of Operation:
- Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Think you might have the flu? Here’s what to do to take care of yourself and protect others:

- Stay home and rest. Avoid work, school or public places. Rest helps your body fight the infection and prevents it from spreading to others.

- Monitor your symptoms. Keep track of severity, duration and any changes in symptoms like fever, chills, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, headache, runny or stuffy nose.

- Hydrate and manage symptoms. Drink plenty of water or herbal tea. Over-the-counter medications can help with symptoms. Avoid alcohol and smoking.

- Seek medical care if needed. Call your healthcare provider if you experience trouble breathing, chest pain, severe weakness, confusion, persistent high fever or worsening symptoms, especially if you are pregnant, older or have chronic conditions. Early treatment can help reduce complications.

- Protect your community. Cover coughs and sneezes, wash your hands frequently and stay home until you’ve been fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication.

This week, we are proud to spotlight Dr. Scott Dove, a trusted and respected physician who has served the Wytheville community for more than 30 years. Throughout his career, Dr. Dove has consistently provided high-quality, compassionate healthcare and has played a pivotal role in shaping accessible care in our region.

Dr. Dove was the first provider in Wytheville to introduce a walk-in clinic model, a concept he personally designed and implemented. He recognized early on that community members needed access to care before and after the workday, and he built his practice around those real-life needs. This forward-thinking model has been incredibly successful for decades and later served as the foundation for our Rapid Care.

Dr. Dove continues to offer early morning walk-in hours, making it easier for patients to be seen before work, school, or daily responsibilities. You can find Dr. Dove in the clinic from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Family Care Wytheville operates primarily as a walk-in clinic, but appointments are also welcome. If you prefer to schedule ahead, please call 276-227-0460, and our team will be happy to assist you.

We are grateful for Dr. Dove's decades of dedication to our community and are proud to continue offering the accessible, patient-focused care that Wytheville has relied on for generations.
