This week we celebrate our Environmental Services & Housekeeping Team! From keeping laundry fresh and folded for our residents, to neat and tidy rooms, sparkling hallways, and floors so shiny you could check your reflection, this crew keeps our campus looking its very best.

A big thank you to Manager Tammy Nuckols and her incredible team — Michael, Christina, Linda, Cynthia, Ruth, Teresa, Drema, Sydney, Zina, Isabella, Candice, Justin, Montez, Shayla, and Sabrina! You truly keep us looking “ship shape” every single day. Thank you for all you do!

Welcome Jeffrey Smith, Director of Nursing, to Carrington Place at Wytheville!
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Jeffrey Smith, RN, PDS, LNC, our new Director of Nursing!
With over 20 years of nursing experience, particularly in Emergency and Trauma care, Jeffrey brings a deep well of clinical expertise, strong leadership, and a true passion for patient care to our community.

In addition to his accomplished nursing career, Jeffrey has proudly served as a United States Marine, Firefighter, and Police Officer—a testament to his lifelong commitment to service, discipline, and protecting others.

Throughout his career, Jeffrey has taken pride in his personal and professional growth. He describes life-saving moments as some of the most rewarding experiences in his journey. What excites him most about joining Carrington Place? The chance to lead a dedicated clinical team and shape exceptional patient care.
Outside of work, Jeffrey is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking, and motorcycle riding. Above all, it’s his daughter who brings the biggest smile to his face.

He lives by the powerful motto:
“Loyalty above all things, except honor.”

Meet Anthony Brunicardi– Our New Administrator at Carrington Place!

We’re thrilled to welcome Anthony Brunicardi to Carrington Place! With over 32 years of experience in skilled nursing, Anthony brings a deep passion for healthcare, shaped by his upbringing—his mother was an RN and his father a hospital CEO. ❤️

Starting his journey at The Ohio State University Hospital, Anthony quickly discovered his true calling in long-term care and has been committed to serving communities ever since.

A Vision Rooted in Community, Compassion, and Commitment
Looking to the future, Anthony’s vision for Carrington Place is centered on restoring the trust, integrity, and standard of excellence the facility was once known for rebuilding strong relationships and delivering exceptional care to the community it serves.

“We are a small community,” Anthony says, “and we all need to support each other—not only as a healthcare facility, but as a vital resource.”

He’s especially excited about re-engaging with the Wytheville community, building strong partnerships, and creating a welcoming environment for both residents and staff.

When he’s not at work, Anthony enjoys the simple things—relaxing at his cabin in Duffield VA, riding his motorcycle, watching wildlife with his wife, or spending time with their 5 children and 7 grandkids. He never misses a NASCAR race! 🏁

Fun fact: Anthony played rugby at Ohio State!

One of his guiding mottos:
“Do or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda
…and a personal reminder: “Life is two-sided—choose the better side of it.”

His message to the community:
“I’m here to listen. Together, we can bring Carrington Place back to what this community needs and deserves.”

🎉 Another fantastic Triad event in the books! A huge THANK YOU to District Three Cooperative Services for hosting our community seniors with a delicious lunch today! 🍽️

We also greatly appreciated the informative and timely presentation on Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance and Senior Medical Patrol, with a special focus on Medicare Open Enrollment. Big shoutout to Ashley Guy and Emma Walbroehl for sharing their expertise! 👏

And what’s lunch without a sweet treat? 🍦 Special thanks to Michelle from Wythe Hospice and Katie Evans from Senior Home Share for the tasty ice cream goodies!

🎉 Happy CNA & NA Week! 🎉
We’re popping with excitement here at Carrington Place at Wytheville as we kick off a week FULL of appreciation for our incredible CNAs and NAs! 🍿💙
Today, we rolled out the red carpet with special gifts, a Popcorn Bar, and a fun Tie-Dye Dress-Up Day to celebrate our team in colorful style!
Even our Administrator joined in the fun and grabbed a bag of popcorn to show support for our amazing staff.

It’s our way of showing just how much we love and value these everyday heroes who bring heart, compassion, and dedication to every shift.
Stay tuned all week long for more fun, surprises, and celebrations—because one day just isn’t enough to honor everything our amazing team does!
