Thank you to the Bristol Chamber of Commerce for inviting us to the 3rd Annual "Road to Richmond" Legislative Breakfast. It was great to hear from our region's General Assembly members about their thoughts on this year's session and some of their top agenda items, including health care, economic development, energy, and other topics.

Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership Director Larry Roberts moderated the panel. On the panel were: Sen. Travis Hackworth, Del. Israel O'Quinn, Del. Mitchell Cornett, Sen. Todd Pillion, Del. Terry Kilgore, and Del. Will Morefield (left to right, seated).

Congratulations to Hill Valley Healthcare on the grand opening and ribbon cutting at Holston Health & Rehabilitation. Formerly Carrington Place of Wytheville - Birdmont Center, we are pleased to be partners with Hill Valley Healthcare in providing excellent long-term care to residents.

Mount Rogers has 29 beds at the facility in a program that Hill Valley Healthcare executives praise for its quality of care. "We're excited. We think this is a great program," said Chance Craft, regional director of Hill Valley Healthcare.

Looking for a bright, cheerful home in Galax with plenty of heart? The Sanchez family has a Sponsored Residential opening and would love to welcome someone into their lively, bilingual household!

Chris, Bianny, their two daughters, and Bianny’s mother Elcida, live in a beautifully renovated brick home full of charm. They love movie nights, cooking, dancing in the kitchen, going to local events, traveling, and gathering with friends and family in their cozy backyard oasis. They’re warm, experienced caregivers with big hearts—and 2 tiny, friendly pups (plus a few chickens!).

🛏️ Two main-floor bedrooms are available, with no stairs required to enter the home. A full bathroom with walk-in shower is just steps away, and the person(s) choosing this home is encouraged to decorate the space to feel like home.

📍Located less than half a mile from downtown Galax, the home is very close to restaurants, the New River Trail (within walking distance!), coffee shops, day support programs, and more.

We love to support our service members, veterans, and their families! We are pleased to announce a grant to further support them.

The Virginia Department of Veteran Services (DVS) awarded us a grant for services to our local veterans. Our award is one of 57 community grants from the DVS Su***de Prevention and Opioid Addiction Services (SOS) Program. The 57 grants have a total value of $16 million.

The money helps fund Mount Rogers programs such as Fishing for Vets. Other programs the grant will fund for 2025-26 include:
• Specialized community-based training such as trauma-informed and adverse experiences.
• Military cultural competency.
• REVIVE naloxone training.

This past year we served more than 300 service members, veterans, reservists, members of the National Guard, veterans, and family members.
