Juneteenth, a day of celebration of the final | official day of the end of legalized slavery in the United States. It's a "new" holiday and one to be remembered, as so many Americans died making sure that their fellow Americans could be free to live without fear and to walk in freedom and opportunity.

We pray now for a change in people's hearts, as slavery is still alive and well in America. Human trafficking has exploded in the last couple of decades, and so many people are exploited, enslaved, in chains, without hope, and living lives of fear and suffering. They are the hidden slave - in the US and around the world. Today, instead of just saying "Happy Juneteenth", maybe take a moment to give to one of the organizations fighting this modern slavery day in and day out.

The “Let Them” theory for high achievers…

This is where I have struggled to “let them”.

When someone offers to help.
When someone offers to buy my coffee.
When someone offers a compliment.

Do I accept with grace and gratitude OR do I quickly steal their joy by deflecting their love & support?

I’m leaning into grace and gratitude, but I still have more work to do.

In my 20s I wanted to prove my worth.
In my 30s I wanted to show I could do it all.

In my 40s I’m being reminded that connection and community is everything. That both giving AND receiving are part of life’s journey.

When someone offers a compliment…let them.
When someone offers to buy a coffee…let them.
When someone holds a door…let them.

Sometimes we need to remember to block out the bad. And sometimes we need to remember to LET IN the good.
