🌟 𝗗𝗦𝗣 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 - 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹 🌟

We are so excited to shine the spotlight on 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹 as one of our DSPs for Appreciation Week! Michelle was chosen because she brings so much 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 into everything she does. She goes the 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲 to make sure the people she supports feel valued, respected, and cared for.

Michelle’s 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 make her truly stand out, and her ability to connect with others has such a 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁. She’s not just dependable and hardworking—she’s someone who makes every day brighter for the people around her.

🌟 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 (𝗗𝗦𝗣) 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗲 🌟

𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 who consistently goes above and beyond to support both clients and colleagues. She is 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 to ensure the needs of the team and our clients are met.

She works with 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗴𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 and has built 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 with both clients and staff. Her 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 make her an 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

🥗💚 GIVING BACK, ONE MEAL AT A TIME! 💚🥗

This week, several Toward Independence team members had the incredible opportunity to serve side-by-side at One Bistro Xenia, a pay-it-forward community café committed to feeding both bodies and souls.

They helped serve meals, greeted guests, washed dishes, wiped tables, and most importantly, shared in genuine human connection. 💚

🙌 AT THE HEART OF WHO WE ARE IS COMMUNITY.
It’s about more than the services we provide or the tasks we complete it’s about BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER from all walks of life, sharing stories, and being in community with one another.

🤝 THANK YOU, ONE BISTRO, for allowing us to help serve this amazing community meal. We trust that every guest who walked through your doors was as blessed by the experience as we were by your service, sacrifice, and spirit of generosity.

Volunteering at One Bistro reminded us why we do what we do to build stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone belongs. The pay-it-forward model isn’t just about meals it’s about creating a space where KINDNESS IS CURRENCY and everyone has something to give. ✨

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬?
𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐅𝐎𝐀𝐌 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘! 🫧🎉

Well, that’s exactly what some of the individuals we serve did at the 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐛𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 this past weekend, and let us tell you, they made the most of every minute!

From the moment the music started and the first bubbles filled the air, the energy was electric. The foam was flying, the dance moves were flowing, and laughter echoed all around. For some, it was their first-ever foam party. For others, they're seasoned veterans either way. Judging by the smiles on their faces, it definitely won’t be their last!

These kinds of community events are more than just fun — they’re 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐲.

At Toward Independence, Inc., we believe that everyone deserves opportunities to create memories, celebrate friendships, and have access to inclusive, joyful experiences.

Big shoutout to the event organizers Greene County Parks & Trails, who made sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone had a safe, exciting, and accessible day in the bubbles!

🎉 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 – 𝐀 𝐇𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬! 🎉

This week, we celebrated not just one but two amazing events as the 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 was held in 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐠𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 on Monday and again in 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 on Wednesday! 💙

Both gatherings brought together 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬, and 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 for a time of food, fun, and connection and the turnout was incredible!

👩‍🚒 A special thank you goes out to the 𝐄𝐌𝐒 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐠𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 & 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞, who took the time to attend and engage with the people we serve. Your presence made a lasting impact and reminded everyone how deeply connected we are as a community.

🐾 And of course, we were honored to be joined by our longtime friends at 4 Paws For Ability, who brought joy, wagging tails, and so much heart to both events.

🌟 We were proud to present 4 Paws For Ability with the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 in recognition of their unwavering support, partnership, and impact on the lives of the people we serve. Their mission and values align beautifully with our own, and we’re grateful for everything they do.

🙌 As someone who deeply believes in the power of advocacy, I’m especially proud of our 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩. These lunches were their vision and their hard work, creativity, and leadership brought it all to life. I can’t wait to see what they dream up next!

🎢☀️ 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐒𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 & 𝐒𝐨𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐞𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝! 🌊🎉

With all this 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 we’ve been having, some of the awesome individuals we serve decided to make the most of it with an unforgettable trip to 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 and 𝐒𝐨𝐚𝐤 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 and wow, what a day! 😎🌞

From the 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 to the 𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡-𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬, there was something for everyone to enjoy. . 🎠🎢💦

We saw so many 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, and it reminded us why we do what we do 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐲, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬. ❤️

🎆🎉 𝐓𝐈 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟒𝐭𝐡! 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲🎉🎆

As most of you know, Toward Independence, Inc. showed up 𝐁𝐈𝐆 for the 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 and wow, what an unforgettable time it was!

At the 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲, we got to connect with 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 of some of former indviduals we have served, 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬, and even 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞r. Everyone was so excited to see us there and had nothing but 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 about the impact TI has had over the years! 💛🙌

Our 𝟓𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬 (loaded with 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨, a handy 𝐐𝐑 𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐞, and of course 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐘 🍬) were a 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐭! We had great conversations with 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 and 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬, and we’re hopeful for some exciting partnerships in the future. 👥🤝

And then came the 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞… 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 — 𝐖𝐎𝐖! 🚍🇺🇸
We weren’t sure what to expect with an 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝟖𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭, but everyone showed up 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭-𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲! 😎🎉

Decked out in 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬, 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐬, and all the 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫, we brought the spirit and two of our own staff, Victoria and Lenka totally stole the show! The crowd went wild cheering for the indviduals we serve as they cruised by in the bus, and they returned the love with 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬. 🥰👏 𝟏𝟎/𝟏𝟎 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝!

While sprinting around handing out goodies, we overheard folks saying things like:

"𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦!"
"𝘖𝘩, 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦!"

And that just hit home. We truly are making a difference, and people know it. ❤️

𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝, 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞! 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝟒𝐭𝐡, 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐰𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫! 🇺🇸🎇

Also a 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐓 to Fairborn Fire Department. We had a small medical issue and they were quick to respond, professional and just really great!
