Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a mild viral infection that is most common in infants and children under the age of 7, but it can also affect older children and adults. And did you know that coxsackievirus can remain viable on some nonporous surfaces for up to 2 weeks?!?!
Here are the signs and symptoms of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease:
– Fever
– Fussiness
– Drooling
– Mouth pain or sore throat
– Refusal to eat or drink
– Red bumps/blisters in mouth, palms, soles, or groin area
If your child has any of these symptoms, it is important to speak with a healthcare professional. They can assess your child’s condition and recommend appropriate treatment.
