Serving the needs of children with special healthcare needs and their families, Children's Village provides specialized services and therapies for families throughout Central Washington. Who We Are:
Children’s Village began as a dream and vision among key community organizations and dedicated volunteers to meet the needs of children with special healthcare needs and their families. Children with special health care needs have access to the vital services they need in their own community. No longer do families have to travel long distances with medically fragile children to access the specialized and complex care their children require. Each year, thousands of children receive over 30 different kind of specialized services provided by the Village. There are medical specialty clinics, developmental evaluations and collaborative diagnostic clinics, dental services, occupational, physical and speech therapy, mental health counseling and learning clinics. The Village also runs a vibrant parent and family support program called Parent to Parent
More than anything, Children’s Village is a place for children to be children first. Whether treatment, services or exams take place in the home, at school, at the Village itself or through one of its partner organizations; everyone at Children’s Village believes the same thing. Key Partners:
Five vital organizations to the Yakima Valley – Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic, EPIC (Enterprise for Progress in the Community), the Memorial Foundations and Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health – came together out of a shared passion and commitment to provide the highest quality healthcare possible for area children. Today, Children’s Village is made possible through key partner organizations, generous benefactors from around the community, state and federal funding and grants. All combined, they provide the unique array of services to meet the needs of children and their families. History:
Since opening its doors in 1997, the number of children served at Children’s Village has tripled to nearly 4,000. Due to the increasing needs of the community, a capital campaign spearheaded by the Memorial Foundation was embarked on in 2008 and an $8 million dollar expansion project was finished last year. Fundraising continues to ensure program and treatment services are available for every child who needs them.

After serving 26 years as the founding Medical Director at Yakima Children's Village, Dr. Diane Liebe made her final rounds last Friday before embarking on her next adventure: retirement. For nearly 3 decades, Dr. Liebe has ensured kids with special health care needs have access to care, support, and opportunities to thrive through Children’s Village, leaving a permanent mark on the lives of thousands of families across our community and region.
