Residents enjoyed an end of summer beach party. Our kitchen team made us some Hawaiian Meatballs and a Pineapple Upside Down Cake. We enjoyed some Beach Boys music in the background and had a great time! 😊

We had a great turnout for a new dice game in the activity room. Candy Dice Toss is already a resident favorite. Similar to the White Elephant game, the dice determine whether we get to keep our candy or if we have to give it away, piece by piece. As long as we don't roll a five, we will leave the table with some candy! There was excitement, laughter, and maybe even a few tears from those of us who couldn't roll anything other than a five and had to put all of our candy back in the bucket. 😊

Highgate Senior Living - Yakima is proud to celebrate Ilene as the Resident of the Month for September 2025. Ilene has been a lovely addition to our Highgate community. When her children were young she was a stay-at-home mom; later she became a cook at one of her local school cafeterias. Finally, she was a store clerk until she retired. Ilene was married for 31 years and has two sons and a daughter along with four grandchildren. Ilene says every part of Highgate is her favorite. Everyone's been so pleasant; she loves it here! She really enjoys going to the musical activities and she looks forward to each performance. We're so glad to have her as part of the Highgate community! 😊

Highgate Senior Living - Yakima is proud to celebrate Leslie as the team member of the month for September 2025. Leslie has been a part of the Highgate team for about two years. Her favorite thing about Highgate is the residents and the relationships she's built with them. Leslie really enjoys being able to spend time with and take care of the residents; she says it brings her fulfillment. Please join us in congratulating her on a job well done! 😊

Another successful Lunch Bunch outing. Mel's Diner was our destination this time around. Great food, great service, and again, great company. We couldn't have asked for anything more; it was a perfect lunch! 😊
