NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families. Since 1979, NAMI has become the nation’s voice on mental illness, a nationwide organization with affiliates in every state and in more than 1,100 local communities across the country. NAMI is dedicated to the eradication of mental illnesses and to the improvement of the quality of life of all who are affected by these diseases. NAMI members and friends work tirelessly to meet shared NAMI goals through many activities. These include:
● Family and Consumer Peer Education and Support
NAMI’s education programs include Family-to-Family, the Provider Education Program, Peer-to-Peer, support groups, and various state and local programs.
● Public Education and Information

● Advocacy on Behalf of People Living with Mental Illness
AMI advocates on the federal, state, and local levels for nondiscriminatory and equitable public and private-sector policies, as well as for federally-funded research for treatment and cures for mental illness. Through the Campaign, NAMI advocates for policies that are reflective of the best economic, science, recovery, and systems choices. These Centers advocate for unique populations and develop and disseminate information to meet specific needs.

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. Life’s a lot sometimes. Take breaks, unplug, and talk to someone you trust. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. 💪

Está bien sentirse abrumado. A veces la vida es muy dura. Tómate descansos, desconecta y habla con alguien en quien confíes. No tienes por qué resolverlo todo tú solo. 💪

🎨✨ What an incredible turnout at our "Art in Anxious Times" event! Our Yakima community showed up ready to explore new creative outlets and discover powerful ways to use art for emotional regulation.
Watching everyone dive into different artistic techniques and connect with one another was truly heartwarming. Creativity isn't just a hobby – it's a vital tool for mental wellness that helps us process emotions, reduce stress, and build resilience. Art gives us a voice when words aren't enough and provides a healthy outlet for whatever we're carrying.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in learning, creating, and supporting one another. This is what community mental health looks like! 💙
