Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our home health team. The LPN will provide direct patient care in the home setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), following the plan of care and ensuring high standards of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide nursing care to patients in their homes.

Knowing the signs of a Medicare scam is essential to protect yourself. To get your personal information, like your Medicare number, scammers may call, text, and email saying things like:

"You need to activate or renew your Medicare card."
"We'd like to send you a free genetic testing kit."
"Medicare has authorized us to send you a free (knee, back, or elbow) brace."
"You qualify for a refund on your Medicare costs."

Remember, never give your Medicare card or number to anyone except your doctor or people you know should have it. Keep in mind that caller IDs and email addresses can be faked, so if you're not sure who's calling, call at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). And remember, Medicare will never contact you unless you’ve contacted them first.

As nurses week is coming to an end, there has been a heaviness on my heart.

This post from a colleague nurse is filled with so much accuracy for all nurses.

I am so glad that God has called me to this career, and given me a passion for those around me, yet society has seemed to lose that compassion, and our careers have become more complicated than just going to and from work.

In light of recent events, we need more light shed on my field.

We give our all to our patients, most times leaving no kind of support or care for our own well being.
And when we go home… it continues. Dreams and nightmares of work.
Thoughts of how your patients are.
If you did enough to save them.
If you made a difference.
It’s not as easy as turning it on and off.
We hold lives in our hands.
Medical errors are the cause of too many people’s deaths.
Prolonging lives, and providing interventions that we personally disagree with, but respecting the patients and families wishes.

Being a nurse is more than ‘cute scrubs’ and sparkly badge buddies.

Being a nurse is not for the faint of heart.
Bedside nursing is what is creating a nursing shortage of experienced nurses.
The weight we are expected to carry is more than the worth of the paycheck.

So if you encounter a nurse in your life, maybe you or someone you love is sick. Please remember, we are humans too.
I don’t get paid to be disrespected.
I don’t get paid to be name called.
I don’t get paid to be your eye candy.
I don’t get paid to be your punching bag.

I did not get my bachelors degree to be spat at, bitten, punched, kicked in the chest, scratched, cursed at. Nor
did not get my bachelors degree to do things that don’t have your best interest at heart…

on the contrary…

I am a nurse to help.
I am a nurse to love.
I am a nurse to be my patients advocate, yet who will be OUR advocates?

To all of the nurses who have guided me and poured into me, to make me who I am today, I am so grateful for you. This career is not just demanding physically but emotionally demanding just as much, if not more. There are not enough words to express my gratitude to nurses who have taken care of my friends and family members in times of need. I can only pray that I can have just as much impact on others as those before me have had on my life.

I am proud to be a nurse.
