Honoring Our Veterans Today and Every Day

At LCBHS, our mission is to support the well-being of every individual in our community. Today, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of our veterans. Your service has protected our freedoms and strengthened our nation.

Mental health is a vital part of that strength. If you or someone you know is a veteran in need of support, we are here to help. Reaching out is a sign of strength, and you are never alone.

Thank you for your service. Thank you for your commitment. We stand with you.

💙 Community Support Spotlight 💙

We’re incredibly grateful to Ruth Ann Dannenbring and the General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) Yankton for their generous donation in support of LCBHS client activities.

Ruth Ann recently presented a check on behalf of GFWC Yankton, helping us continue to provide meaningful, engaging opportunities for those we serve. These kinds of contributions directly impact the well-being and recovery journeys of our clients. We couldn’t do it without community partners like you.

Thank you for investing in hope, healing, and connection.

💬 “It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to ask for help.” - Michael Phelps

Even champions need support. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps has spoken openly about his mental health journey and his words remind us that strength includes vulnerability.

At Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services, we believe asking for help is a courageous first step. Whether you're facing stress, anxiety, depression, or just feeling overwhelmed, you're not alone and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

🧔‍♂️ Movember: Breaking the Stigma Around Men’s Mental Health

November isn’t just about mustaches - it’s about starting conversations that matter.

Too often, men feel pressure to stay silent about stress, anxiety, or depression. But strength isn’t about hiding pain - it’s about facing it, and knowing when to reach out.

💬 Let’s break the stigma.
Let’s normalize asking for help.
Let’s remind the men in our lives: you don’t have to go it alone.

📞 If you or someone you care about is struggling, support is just a call away:

💬 Feeling overwhelmed? You’re not alone. Whether it’s work, relationships, or just the pace of everyday life, stress can build up quickly. The good news: support is always available.

Here are a few ways to ease the pressure:
Take a walk or stretch for 10 minutes
Talk to someone you trust
Practice deep breathing or mindfulness
Set boundaries around your time and energy

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Ryan Myers 🌟

Meet Ryan, one of our dedicated Youth & Family Counselors here at LCBHS. Ryan provides outpatient therapy to children, teens, and families - and also plays a key role in mentoring the next generation of social workers by supervising our interns.

Why is mental health important to you?

“Mental health is important to me because our perception of the world and ourselves is so directly related to the understanding of our own inner power. Empowering clients and families to reach their innate potentials is my passion.”

We’re grateful for Ryan’s insight, compassion, and commitment to helping others grow. 💙

🎃 Our Youth & Family team had a blast at Stewart Elementary’s Trunk or Treat last Monday night! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello and celebrate the season with us.

Stewart Elementary’s annual Trunk or Treat, held this year on Monday, October 27, brought together families, students, and community organizations for a fun and safe Halloween celebration. The school grounds were transformed into a festive trail of decorated trunks, costumes, and candy galore.

Our Youth & Family Services staff joined the fun with a themed trunk and plenty of treats, connecting with families and sharing smiles throughout the evening. Events like these are a great reminder of the power of community - and we’re proud to be part of it.

🧡 Thank you to Stewart Elementary for hosting such a joyful event!

📍 LCBHS Outreach: A Legacy of Local Support

For decades, Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services has brought mental health care directly to communities across southeastern South Dakota. Our outreach clinics have served Wagner, Armour, Parkston, Elk Point, and Alcester - each one part of our mission to make care accessible and personal.

Today, we continue that tradition with active sites in Vermillion and Lake Andes, offering local support where it’s needed most. Whether past or present, every community we've served is part of our story - and we’re grateful for the trust and
connection built along the way.
