💭 Self-Care Reflection

Stress touches all of our lives, but how we respond makes a difference. Taking time to notice the healthy ways we cope can remind us of our own strength.

😓 Feeling Burnt Out?

Burnout can sneak up on anyone - whether at work, home, or in everyday life. Common signs include constant fatigue, feeling detached or unmotivated, irritability, mood changes, and trouble focusing or sleeping.

The good news? Small steps can help you recover. Try taking short breaks to reset your mind, practicing deep breathing, setting realistic goals for the day, and connecting with friends or loved ones for support.

Remember: taking care of yourself isn’t selfish - it’s essential. 💙

📖 A Look Back at Our Roots

Before becoming Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services, we began as the Lewis & Clark Mental Health Center. One of our first independent homes was in the historic Carnegie Library Building at 4th & Capitol in Yankton. 🏛️

This building represents an important chapter in our journey - laying the foundation for the growth and services we provide today.

🌿 Wellness Resource: Deep Breathing for Calm 🌿

When stress or anxiety builds up, your breath is one of the most powerful tools you have. Deep breathing helps calm your nervous system, lower stress, and bring your focus back to the present.

Here’s a simple exercise you can try anywhere:

✨ 4-7-8 Breathing Technique ✨
Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds
Hold your breath for 7 seconds
Slowly exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds
Repeat 3 - 4 times

💡 Try this before a big meeting, during moments of stress, or anytime you need to reset.

Taking a few mindful breaths is a small step that can make a big difference for your mental health. 💙

💚This past Saturday, our team at Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services (LCBHS) proudly stood alongside our Yankton neighbors at Bridging Yankton’s annual Step Forward to Prevent Su***de Walk, a meaningful event organized in collaboration with United Way of Greater Yankton and the Helpline Center.💚

💙The day at Riverside Park Amphitheater began with registration at 8:15 a.m., followed by an inspiring remembrance ceremony and guest speaker. Immediately afterward, participants embarked on a 1.5-mile walk - including crossing the iconic Yankton Meridian Bridge - to honor and support su***de prevention efforts.💙

At LCBHS, we’re committed to providing crisis intervention services year-round - whether through our 24/7 crisis helplines (local : 800-765-3382; national : 988), walk-in support at our CORE Center in Yankton, or outreach initiatives for rural communities. By walking together, we reaffirmed our shared dedication to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and fostering hope across our community.
