Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter Welcome to the Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center page. We are always in need of volunteers to help walk and socialize the animals.

The Brookhaven Animal Shelter & Adoption Center staff is dedicated to helping the homeless pets in our township. We are proud of the fact that over 94% of the animals that come to us are saved because of the implementation of adoption programs and additional adoption center hours. Additionally coalition building with private humane societies and other animal organizations, significant upgrades to the kennels and shelter atmosphere, the addition of an education room and new training programs for the staff have all contributed to recent successes. Our outreach programs provide the community with educational and pet companionship opportunities. The Help the Animals Fund provides medical care for sick and injured stray animals that previously would have had to be euthanized. This Valentine’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on a very special girl who has waited **far too long** for her happily-ever-after… 💔

✨ **Meet LUNA** ✨
Our **longest resident**, our sweet girl Luna, has been patiently waiting at the Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter for WAY TOO LONG and at no fault of her own. She arrived at the shelter on 10/07/2023 when her family could no longer care for her, surrendered and sad she sits waiting for her new family. Day after day, she watches others leave while she continues to hope that *her* person will walk through the door. 💔🐾

About Luna:
* 5-year-old spayed female weighing approx. 50lbs, looking for a home with kids 14 and up and as the only pet, active, intelligent and sweet.

❄️🐾 Winter Brings Happy Tails at the Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter 🐾❄️

The winter months have brought so many of our dogs exactly what they deserve—loving forever homes. We’ve said happy tails to some truly amazing pups, and we couldn’t be more grateful to the families who opened their hearts.
