Everyone talks about the “before and after.”
The truth is, getting into shape isn’t a straight shot from Point A to Point B…
Especially if you’re a busy mom juggling work, kids, and trying to make time for yourself, just getting a workout in or planning one solid meal can feel like a win.

If you’ve ever heard of the term “messy middle”... it’s usually more like that :-)

The more realistic (and rewarding) picture is that your journey is made up of lots of little steps.
Every step…even the ones that feel like detours… holds a lesson.
And when you learn how to course-correct along the way, you start to build:
→ Self-trust
→ Resilience
→ Habits that last

And THAT is what actually gets you to your results — and helps you keep them.

It’s easy to compare yourself to someone else’s highlight reel... especially when you don’t see the whole story. But their journey isn’t your journey and you do not where they started!

Stay focused on YOUR progress, YOUR healing, and YOUR goals.

✅ Drive with your legs — not your arms (keep those heels down)!
✅ Sit tall — keep that core braced (hinge at the waist from 11 o’clock to 1 o’clock)
✅ Finish strong — pull to the bottom of your ribs

Believe it or not, your 60 minute workout class will not cancel out the fact that you sit at a desk for 8 hours a day (and then another 2 hours on the couch).

NEAT - Non exercise activity thermogenesis. NEAT refers to the energy expended through daily activities that are not planned exercise, such as walking, gardening, household chores, and even fidgeting. We need a negative energy balance (deficit) to lose.

Our advice… WALK.
Walk. Walk often. Get up and move. It doesn’t have to be for long distances or long timeframes, but getting up and moving throughout your day can have a big payoff on the scale.

You burn literally over two times the amount of calories daily via NEAT as you do via exercise.

Your best bet toward faster fat loss is as many exercise sessions is as reasonable, enjoyable, and maintainable week to week, combined with a daily step goal that keeps you up and moving instead of spending that time stationary. The later part being far more beneficial long term in terms of calorie expenditure.

Advice:

Three 10 minute walks fit purposefully into your day, and one 30 minute walk fit into your day.

Those intentional walks adding up to an hour/60 mins/6-7k steps plus all your 'living daily life' steps will have you more active than 80%

Here's the recipe:
Cinnamon Chia-Blueberry Smoothie
1 cup Frozen Blueberries (wild)
1/2 cup Kale leaves
1 tbsp. Chia Seeds
1 tsp. Cinnamon

Lack of flexibility is an epidemic! 😳

Let’s face it, most of us sit 8 hours a day and maybe exercise for 1 hour at max. That’s a huge discrepancy! With decreased flexibility comes higher risk for injury and daily discomfort in muscles and joints. One of the ways we help our clients increase flexibility is through partner assisted stretching. This form of stretching allows for a deeper and more intensive stretch. _______________________
We feel the benefits are far better than solo self stretching. The cherry on top is it’s a great cool down and relaxing end to a workout.
