We are happy to report that Jonathan Allua has accepted a position with us as our first Program Director!

Jon has been with us since day 1 as a flight nurse, and has been an incredible asset to the program. Jon’s flight career spans 26 years at many programs across the United States.

We are thankful to have such incredible people here at Battle Born!

Proud to support those who keep our communities safe!

On March 24, 2026, Joey Loehner with Battle Born Medevac gifted the Storey County Sheriff's Office brand new safety vests and Pi-LIT electronic road flares. Battle Born Medevac, a Partner in Public Safety with the STEER Unit, included two sets of Pi-LIT flares capable of transmitting an infrared red light to assist with safely landing a helicopter during nighttime operations. The Pi-LIT flares are in addition to the Pi-LIT flares received through a grant with the State of Nevada - Office of Traffic Safety.

This afternoon, Air 12 responded to C Hill for an injured hiker. The initial request to our dispatch was made at 1508, and Air 12 was skids down on C Hill at 1517. Huge shoutout to all of our fellow partner agencies for helping to activate early! After a short (but STEEP!) hike up to the patient, pain management was provided, and the patient was carried down to the awaiting helicopter. Air 12 was able to conduct this extrication solo, allowing to return their units to service for other calls almost immediately.

Special shoutout to pilot AJ for assisting with the patient carry to the aircraft!

One of the coolest things about our partnership with is watching our Firefighter/Flight Paramedics (FF/FPM) conduct required fire training between flights. Here, FF/FPM Orozco participates in Water Tender Drafting training in preparation for the upcoming wildland season!

Air 12 on scene of a dirt bike accident in the pine nuts today! Due to the remote location, Air 12 was launched at the same time as ground resources. Air 12 was on scene 16 minutes after the 911 call, and was able to package, extract, and transport the patient as the sole responder on scene. The crew released the incoming ground units, allowing for more resources to be available for the community. A fantastic example of strong dispatch systems, effective communication, and patient focused care!
