The Doherty Craft Sale has come and gone and I have finally recovered. During the sale I came to the conclusion I would not return. There are many reasons, but the main one is this sale is not what it used to be. In the past all vendors had to produce their own items..all handcrafted. Now anything from tupperware to tasers to religious materials are accepted .There are many duplicate vendors. It's not at all fair to a new vendor to be placed next to or directly across from a long time vendor who offers the same items. The price will be going up AGAIN next year and the quality of the fair has declined. And I'm just getting started.....

I plan on returning to Herb Fest in the spring of 2026. For now, I have winter to rest and reflect on where the coming year takes me..

I'm pleased to announce I finally have Ear Oil back in stock. After last years grasshopper invasion there was nothing to gather to make the oil. This year was very different and I have an excellent batch ready. It will be available at the Doherty Craft Fair this weekend.

Tomorrow is the day! Come visit one of the best holiday craft fairs in Colorado Springs!
I'll be bringing back a favorite: Palo Santo Smudge Mist
Made with deep well water charged under the super moon ,this mist is infused with Tiger Eye, Clear Quartz and Amethyst crystals as well as Palo Santo essential oil. It's got a wonderful light woodsy scent and makes a great substitute for when you can't burn smudge sticks.
I keep a bottle of it by the bed for misting before going to bed and again when I wake up.

Two more days till one of the best Christmas craft shows in Colorado Springs! I look forward to this fair all year! This year I've brought back a favorite from the past. These Infused oil sets include 1/2 ounce each of my 3 most requested oils (Lavender, Rose and Painease). I have 5 of these available for the fair in assorted organza bags. They make a nice gifts for teachers, gift swaps or to treat yourself. See you at Doherty High School this Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 4.

I've redone my 9 chakra sets! Each includes 9 tins of small crystal chunks that correspond to each chakra, 9 mini bottles of crystal chips that correspond to each chakra, 2 small organza bags, 6 information cards and a crystal properties booklet. You'll love the scent of these Simmer Pot kits. Just add the contents of the bag to 3 quarts of water in a crockpot or on the stove and simmer adding extra water as needed.

It's almost here! Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the Doherty High School Craft Fair. I've got a few new items to offer this year. Lavender sachets, hand painted Mandala boxes , Simmer pot kits and Patchouli Moon Mist. I've also upgraded my Sleep Sachets to a larger size with even more Mugwort for peaceful dreams. They also have Clear Quartz and Amethyst crystals tucked inside. The fair starts at 9 am Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7. See you there!

A quick tip: when making an infused oil by adding freshly picked flowers or plants do NOT put on a lid that fits tightly. It will cause moisture to build up in the jar and instead of getting a wonderful infused oil you'll have a moldy mess. I use clean straining cloths held on with a rubberband or canning ring. Since new flowers are added daily the cloth is removed long enough to add new flowers and give it a good stir.

Mullein is blooming! That means it's time to make Ear Oil. I'm picking the dainty little flowers daily and adding them to organic extra virgin olive oil. Soon I'll be adding organic garlic from the garden. The oil should be ready in around six to eight weeks.

The St Johns Wort has been blooming for about a month. These pretty yellow flowers make the most beautiful purple tincture and oil. But there's a trick to getting the purple that tells you you have a potent tincture or oil. You MUST use the freshly picked flowers. Dried St Johns Wort flowers will not give you the potency you need. If it's not a deep purple it's not going to give you the results you expect. This year I'm making only tincture. The alcohol base gives it an extended shelf life and it can be used both internally and externally as a liniment.
